Re: Suzuki GSX-R e899 K2
Got now the new controller SD300 from Scott Drive.
The battery voltage will rise up now from 120VDC to 800VDC.
He can deliver up to 600Arms for short bursts or let´s say as long I can cool down the controller to 25°C.

Do a really careful job with dielectric material choices and insulation thickness and humidity/dew/rain protection if you are going to 800Vdc. I enjoy seeing your projects and you alive buddy!
Each carcinogen vapor exposure includes a dice roll for cancer.
Each mutagen vapor exposure includes a dice roll for reproductive genetic defects in your children.
Each engine start sprays them into a shared atmosphere which includes beings not offered an opportunity to consent accepting these cancer experiences and defective genetics life experiences.

Re: Suzuki GSX-R e899 K2
Hi Luke,
yes I know that it will be very dangerous to work with such high voltages.
But also very funny, it´s declared as LV controller (<1000V).
This project will take while before I can start testing and also for your information, I will start with less voltage first.
The controler already woks with 50V DC as minimum.
At first my challange will be to mount everything inside the actually frame and this frame is to small!
So in parallel I will thinking of stretching it or build a new frame with an own design.
But that´s future stuff. Now I have to safe money first and getting the motor by next year.
Actually he is postboned due to car industry colaboration and long time testing periode.
Btw. theoretically it´s possible to get up to 400kW out of this controller (Scott Drive statement).
The good news are that the motor manufacturer also owned now a SD300 and can really test it and I will get later on all parameter settings.
Best regards from Germany
Andre

Re: Suzuki GSX-R e899 K2
So here you can see how big he is.
Now I have 30 to 31cm space between main frame and controller.
So I am limited in outside diameter for my next motor choice.
It´s only preliminary mounted inside for the energy exhibition I will take part again, as the last two years.
The good thing to lower the seat and rear frame position now is that I can fully open the fuel tank cover now

Re: Suzuki GSX-R e899 K2
I love to follow your build. But I can't understand some design choices. Why can't the controller be mounted flat on top of the frame members under the tank cover? Is it too long? And why not mount the motor in/on the rear swing arm so you keep all the space between and under the frame for batteries? With the motor in/on the swing arm you'll have free extra mechanical (weight) downforce and grip at the rear. But this whole build seems more about the looks than technical and financial smart choices to actually compete.
Re: Suzuki GSX-R e899 K2
Nice to get get your critical feedback!
I had placed already the controller at fuel tank cover position and yes, the controller ist to long including his cabeling and additionally the liquid colling will be above the inlet fill in of radiator. Means I hat to move also the radiator from his original position to an upper position behind the cockpit. Also the width of the controller is too big at the point where I am sitting! I alos do not want to have the 800V cabeling direct in front of my best friend
.
Regarding the motor position: If i use a 30cm in diameter big motor and want to implement it into the swing arm (how does it looks above
), do you now where the rear wheel is standing? Right, up to 40/45cm over Series as minimum!
Even if I create a new swingarm. You forgett the suspension, which will need also some space for mounting!
I made already this experience with the 40kg hubmotor! Where the wheel base was 35cm (14") above series (spinning wheel of all the tracks I was driving).
And maybe you are right, it´s my design, my money, my experience I will make. I don´t want to follow the whole mass: Even if the project will fails I had fun during this building periode.
I will not start at 800VDC, it wil be a long time project. The controller is also working at 50VDC! But I have enough space to continue, if everything goes right!
My planned motor will be tested next week from motor manufactuer with same controller and therefore I also will get the settings. But the motor is postboned to next year and therefore I have time to save money and if I don´t have the money regarding other private issues it will takes a little bit longer to realize this!
Btw., the controller is not cheap, thats true but I own the EmDrive500 (100kVA) which cost half of the money as SD300. And also if SD300 will not reach the full spec of RMS PM250DZ (both are working up to 800V and deliver 600Arms (RMS:460KVA, SD300:400KVA) I saved 10k€ for near to the same power! So about the financial issue I think it´s actually the best I can do.

Actually I am absolut happy and I can present something new on energy exhibition.
I am really sure that there existing not so much SD300 models!

Thx guys,
yes, it’s not the smallest one
Now the first day of energy exhibition is over.
Had again as last year a lot of good conversations.
Conversations about the bike and motorcycle.
So I explained in some short sentences about my hobby and how to continue.
Some people like my stuff, some not. But that’s absolutely ok for me!
I am standing in an outside area with perfect weather conditions ( sunshine, 20 degree).
Today I will continue with same weather conditions and some more visitors as last day because of the shops are open Sunday, which is not normal in Germany and in parallel there will be a little spring street festival with a lot of booths.

I am standing in an outside area with perfect weather conditions ( sunshine, 20 degree).
Today I will continue with same weather conditions and some more visitors as last day because of the shops are open Sunday, which is not normal in Germany and in parallel there will be a little spring street festival with a lot of booths.

Re: Suzuki GSX-R e899 K2
Well, I got now an information from my favorite motor company that the motor could be available maybe in spring 2020 but also I got a second information that they will go in beta test phase at Q1 2020 ...
They also wrote that I should check for another interim solution of motor company if I want to follow my time schedule by building the bike.
So I changed my mind of this motor company and found now, I hope, a perfect motor and company.
Actually I am in contact with them, talking already about some specific details.
The delivery time for this motor will be up to 12 weeks.
But now I have to extent the main frame definitely because of the new motor outside diameter (around 40cm).
So it´s in progress ...
