Ridehax Podcast (was :Endless Sphere Podcast / Ebike Nerdcast)

At street motorcycle speeds, a fairing is well worth the weight / cost. I have also been a Vetter fan for some time. For the young 'uns who are new to him:

#33 was great! I have always liked Craig Vetter and thought he would be a great advocate for electric motorcycles. He's 70 years old and still going strong. Great man of sturdy character and courtesy.

Craig has long been someone I admired as having a role-model positive ethos with respect to motorcycling. His energy and enthusiasm, after all these years, is still inspiring and contagious.

Craig is one of my idols, and on a personal level, it was a dream-come-true to speak with him, I still have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming sometimes :)

I would love to see a concept drawing of what Craig would do with a ground-up electric motorcycle design. We have to strive for lower Cd on all 2 wheeled vehicles going faster than 35 or so, since cars can actually have an aerodynamic advantage.

And also for those that don't know, Craig's company Windjammer, building early motorcycle fairings, was the second biggest motorcycle industry manufacturer in the U.S. for a period of time, only second to Harley. This is a man who despite all odds, made a huge difference by allowing 2 wheeled transportation to be an efficient alternative, rather than a toy or hobby.

33 was really great. I liked how Alan Smith reduced the task to bracket making- a man after my own heart. LIke you, I also yearn to see what Craig would do building an ebike from the ground up with no consideration for what we expect from gas bike designs. As he put it,

"If I get a chance to design an electric motorcycle from scratch, I will take advantage of some of these unique qualities the electric motorcycle has, and end up with something that isn't anything like a gas bike, because, lets face it, that's what these guys are doing; trying to make their electric bikes look like gas bikes."

Yes! I want to see this pure, utilitarian design that takes advantage of the special beauty of our components. And I want some time to gaze upon it before he inserts it into a giant, torpedo-shaped fairing.

Luke, I sure hope you guys at Zero are courting Craig in an "official way." I bet you two could do things no one has dreamed of yet.

LoL that's a hard pill to swallow but there it is in the daylight. Perfection simplified.

I couldn't imagine doing that for weeks on end as my sole vehicle. I'd go bonkers. harhar

 Although  I could imagine doing that on some of my long trails in the wee small hours of the morning  Illuminator FTW!

Edit: I see a "Cannonball Run V" in the works?

Are you encouraging more entropy, in our already overly chaotic and attention deprived radio show? I can't see what would go wrong

Latest edition of the ebike nerdcast is live with Andrey Matveev of Adaptto fame and otherwise! http://troyrank.com/2014/05/29/ebike-nerd-podcast-episode-35/

Thanks, I'm really glad that you enjoy it.

I've been swamped lately with.....other things....

I think I might relaunch the podcast and do some consistent shows, but it will be another few months :)

If there is anyone who is willing to help with editing / producing / web design / etc, that may speed things up. PM me for details.

Hey Guys,

I forked the podcast and started it anew. Enter: The Ridehax Podcast

Pilot Episode with Harlan Flagg!
http://www.ridehax.com/?podcast=the-ultimate-zombie-apocalypse-vehicle-with-harlan-flagg-episode-1

The idea is to focus on non-car based ultra efficient transportation.

What do you guys think?

Glad to see you back at it.

Much has happened since 2015.

Damn, 4 years, how'd that happen? I've been trying to make this happen for at least 3 of them :D

I haven't listened to an ES Nerdcast for years. I should try and find time more often.

I thought I would add my YouTube videos here too, I made a bunch back when I did the Colorado trip, and I really liked it. Is stuff like this better than the podcast? I would like to do a bit of both.

RIP ebike nerdcast. Hostmonster deleted my server after it got hacked and it's all gone now :( :( :(

RIP - It was a good run. I'm really bummed because I don't have a backup unfortunately and it's lost forever. Oh well.

If anyone happens to have any of these episodes sitting on a hard drive somewhere, I would love to have them… :)

So brutal to hear Troy! It was a treasure trove of fun ebike talk!

There are actually a few episodes archived on the wayback machine here

Could be more, but I found those in just a few minutes. :)

I couldn't find any media for the ridehax site.

Woah thata awesome AW, I wasn't able to actually download any though. It looks like it was crawled but I don't see the mp3 files. I didn't think it would archive something like that.

I hear Justin talking. How to save this in my computer? I don't know? Imagine you could use some audio program? In my computer I got Adobe Audition CC 2017. No don't give all you money to the Adobe Company. They got enough money. If you need help to learn how to share software. [Torrent] Let me know.

There are probably other ways to record this that I don't know about. Please don't try to record with speakers microphones, and babies screaming in the background.
