You do not need to drill holes or add any fluid to the motor.
 
I wonder if you might say a word or two about it, in case 5 minutes of watching the sky and the back of your helmet doesn't give people enough to go on here.
 
I thought everyone would know it’s 360 when they move their phone around but I will make sure to put that in the title thanks. :)

I think motorcycle gear means more than just a full face helmet. You might want to consider gloves.
But yes, good call on the motorcycle gear since that is, in Arizona, a motorcycle and not an e-bike.

Also, don't try on residential streets, on sidewalks, against red lights, in bike lanes, etc.

The more you keep riding like what you showed in the video, the more likely you'll get hurt or get someone else hurt. I'm glad I don't spend much time riding or driving in Tempe.
 
I do not ride like that all the time, I was just testing the speed to see how fast I can get this bike to go. I just want to have the power there Incase I need it. Thanks for looking out tho.
 
I hate to be the old man here, but you NEED to keep out of the bike lanes with that thing. Motor vehicle speeds = motor vehicle, no excuses. If you're really doing that shit on a bicycle frame with bicycle wheels and brakes like it seems on your video, you're a bullet shot from a gun, with only marginally more control.

I gotta ask. Why did you not get a motorbike if you want that speed? I commuted for years on a 250CC motorbike, it was fast, stable, safe, and an absolute blast to ride; top speed was 80+ MPH and I got 65-70 mpg. A really nice 250 or 500CC Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc will go much faster, safer and will be much more comfortable, and will have appropriate handling and more importantly, braking for the speed. A lightly used small motorbike won't put you back too much, either, $2-4K is typical depending on what it is.

And there's a saying - "Dress for the slide, not the ride". you should have full motorbike leathers on when you're on that thing - if anything happens you're going to be a red crayon on that pavement.....
 
Please, do not ride this vehicle this way on public roads - ever.
Riding this way is the reason we even have (and obviously need) Ebike legislation :es:
 
Looks like you need about 7.5 kW to hit 60 mph based on the motor simulator (looking at the load curve).

Per the simulator, a MXUS 3006 can do it with 150 volts and 200 phase amps:

Ya, curve is pretty steep above 50 mph, so pretty hard for the simulator to work accurately in that region. The MXUS seems to hit 60 at 70 amps ( and 130 phase amps) at the same voltage, but drops off if fed less current on the simulator.

EDIT: I was using MTB upright as the riding position. MTB Tuck can get you there with 5 kW.

Makes sense. I did it tucked. Air hits you pretty hard so you would have some tuck anyway.

Lots of people here have 60+ mph bikes. And yes, we're stupid enough to ride them with nothing more than a bicycle helmet. You can't fly under the radar if you don't look like a cyclist.

Check your brakes. Mechanical inadequacy > failure aside, brakes are your main design safety problem:

1) A bicycle disc brake does not have enough thermal capacity to handle even a single hard stop from 60mph. (some rim brakes actually do, but whether you can make it happen is another story). TEST YOUR BRAKING! Your front brake might give out entirely under hard stopping from speed.

2) If your brakes do work you can only slow down at like .5G or something (due to short wheelbase and high cg), half of what you're used to in a car or sporty motorcycle. So it takes a lot longer to stop.

No you don’t need that much. I am just using a 48v 1000w motor. :)

It's hard to say for sure, but it looks to me like he's using two of those motors. One for each wheel. The shadows cast by the bike clearly show a very large hub in the front and less clearly suggest the same in the back. It also looks like he's are operating a left and a right side throttle.

FWIW, it doesn't appear that he went much faster than perhaps 45 mph or possibly 50 mph on this run. The car he passed (while riding in the bike lane) was on a 35 mph street. Typical traffic on a 35mph street like that might be going 40 mph. Probably not 45mph. And he passed the car slowly.

I hope I'm right because that would mean he's not behaving as dangerously as the title would suggest. But still, this looks like it was built using a fairly standard MTB and those speeds on city streets just doesn't make a lot of sense for that design as outlined by others.

Stay safe. I find drivers, when they pry their faces from their smart phones for 20ms, tend to underestimate the speed of 2 wheeled vehicles.

Yo thats cool! Lots of old timey folks on here who dont want to die yet talkin about this and that, but whatever man. Ride safe. Theres a lot of guys on here whos bikes wont go 50+, more...errr, less power to them. Your build is awesome. I just worry about them cracked up roads you riding in the video. Smash that speed record man! You go. Gloves always will mean no hamburger hands. Yeeehaw
 
Besides a good helmet,

1) Good Gloves

2) Kevlar lined Jeans ( buy at any motorcycle shop or online )

3) Icon (or any other brand ) of Chest and Spine protector ( Also Down Hill Bicycle Versions that are sold at bike shops that have down hill bikes and /or are located in Mountain areas )

4) Good footwear that will protect your ankles .

Good Luck, I am in Favor for high speed bicycles ... since I ( and everyone else ) can breath easier when behind one compared to any Gas/Petrol vehicle .
Electric Motorcycles are out of the Budget for many / most people , so keep up the work on higher speed bicycles .

When riding at higher than pro cyclist speeds ... keep out of bike lanes/ paths, etc. Ride it on the street like every other motor vehicle and learn the proper hand signals for the cars and all other motor vehicles to show them which way you are turning , and when coming to a stop ( These hand signals are / should be in every states motorcycle handbook the one you study for getting your motorcycle license )
