Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I am also running M403's on both my Light Bees (with x controllers). After every 20 miles + trail rides, all four valve stems look like they are ready to rip off. I have been letting the air out, straighten them up and do it all over again. Tried running as high as 15 pounds and it didn't help (also bouncing all over the trail). Rims are clean but the most interesting thing is the direction the valve stems go every time. It's not from acceleration, it's from braking. Guess I'll try to make them tubeless. If it works, I can finally run properly low pressures.

Glad I can help.

One reason for not using hydraulic pressure to bring in regen is that you want regen to kick in before the brakes come on, not after. Ideally regen would be triggered by movement of the brake levers before the brake pads touch the disc, so before any hydraulic pressure is developed in the brake hose.

Hi, can somebody help me and let me know the type of the connectors which are mainly used in the sur-ron? I want to use the break connectors on my X version to make a break lamp (instead of switching off the controller while I am braking which is disturbing me) but I do not want to cut down the original connectors... I would buy sockets for those... Thank you! I tried to use the search function but I could not find any information about that in the previous posts...

You could set a very low threshold for initial regen. The proportionality would be much better than a hall sensor etc.

Installed a front dash cam (action cam with dash cam function) on my bike. Need to figure out how to install a rear one. Used the Git Up G3.

I plugged the camera into the USB port in the front, this way it turns on and records every time I'm riding the bike and turns off when I turn the key off. I also installed a GPS module to record the speed.
The rear camera is just as important so I'll have to figure out how to mount it on the rear.

The reason for a dash cam is in case of any accidents on the bike you can find the other driver at fault. You won't think you need one until you get into an accident and then wish you had one. I got a six figure settlement the only time I got hurt on my bike in a fall because I happened by luck to be recording with an action cam when it happened. Without that video footage I would have gotten absolutely nothing.

While the video footage will be a bit shaky on the handlebar, its more than adequate to record everything around you and its always installed and running when you are riding as it loop records. Just install it and forgot about it.

Here is some footage of climbing stairs with the Sur-Ron.

nice dashcam for accidents....good stair climbing+ nice speeds in the park where people walking , with this cam you realy are the king of the roads, stairs, park :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

The camera works very well, even on the bumpy stairs. I suppose there's a chance the video could be used against you if you were at fault. Does it have an instant delete everything button?

Yeah it isn't too bad even on the stairs. I did some research into the best action cam to use that has a dash cam function. The Git Up G3 seemed the most recommended as it had a lower resolution sensor, not 4K, which would make it better for shaky footage. I'm actually happy with the quality of it and the camera.

I'd probably have to pop out the sd card, but I don't plan on being at fault where I injured someone else. Most of the time on a bike you are only going to hurt yourself.

Dash cams are also good to have on cars. I actually beat a traffic ticket because of the dash cam. The cop so thought he had me to. The cop also lied in traffic court which I could not believe. He wrote stuff in his log that was completely false as I had the video footage of what happened. He went on for like 5 minutes about everything that happened that he wrote down, like he was a hot shot cop and nobody would question him after all his facts he had written down. Basically the cop wrote stuff down in his log of the event to prove his case, but it was a lie some of the stuff, I can't believe a cop would lie like that.

You should have seen how angry he was getting when I was proving he was wrong.

Hey, newbie here. Ordered a Sur Ron X off of Luna. Was looking into ebikes for commuting and was unimpressed till I found the sur ron. Ordered one and will be here next week. Would like to make it as close to a street legal moped as possible. I've seen a lot of pics of ones w a larger headlight assembly w built in directionals. Can these be ordered are they an easy install?

I'm not sure where to get the larger headlight but I put turn signals, mirrors, and a brake light on mine and run it on the street. The wiring is a bit tricky as there are not good diagrams of the wiring, but with a voltmeter you can figure everything out. If you dig back on this thread or the other one https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=96292&start=25 you can see what I did.

This seems like some stupid behaviour. Driving that fast on sidewalks, no insurance etc. and you reaction is to delete when you are at fault? This is just gonna get stuff regulated even more. At this point you are just an uninsured motorcycle.

By New York standards, Offroader isn't causing any problems on his bike, check out this video and you will see what kind of mayhem cyclists cause in traffic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kn_lUtiYNnw

Well this rear mudguard didn't last long. It broke off at 70km/h.. It wasn't a pleasant experience.
