Woke up to this from my charger. Can I short this to do a quick charge? Can I buy these anywhere and solder them or should I just buy a new charger?
Thanks for any help!
We need to know what it was. Kinda crispy to see a number. Need a good one to look at.
Can you tell if that was on the input side or the output side?

contact them directly, I have no affiliation..

There's two nts thermistors that broke and fired up. Obviously can't get any numbers now. I know Holmes hobbies did a video about turning down the amps on the charger and his had same issues. He connected the wires to get his to work. My electronic knowledge isn't that great, but what I understand is the thermistors limit current based on the heat.
Anyway if anyone knows the part numbers or what kind/size, I'll grab new ones and solder them. Or if I can harvest them from somewhere.
I've shorted the wires and it will charge, got the battery to storage level, but don't know how safe that is.

It seems the NTC thermistors are their approach to prevent large sparks on the charger connector if the battery is connected before the charger AC.
If you always plug in the AC on the charger first, there won't be any sparks anyway, so shorting those thermistors should be OK. If you forget, the charger connector may be damaged by the spark.
If I get time, I can take mine apart and try to get a part number off it.

:bigthumb:
Thanks! At least I know I won't be doing damage to the battery or anything. Works fine shorted out. I have already spent enough this year on the bike with new forks and Saint brake pads. I don't need another $150 charger. Noticed my headset moving on my last ride, so that's next on the list too.

My friend is selling his fully tuned and customized sur-ron bike in Moscow. The frame is modified to fit the 22s 60ah 5090wh battery, a custom motor and a motorcycle shock and fork. Stock belt is changed to the chain. The bike has a long seat. 22kw+ power, top speed with 42tooth sprocket is 60mph and the torque lets you do wheelie at 40+mph speeds. The bike weight is 70kg. Programmable controller has its own application to set up the bike. Will send a tutorial in English. The overall appearance is not great as you can see and you will find clamps, scratches and stuff like that but this can be modified and painted for additional cost. The reason for selling: the owner wants to buy a ktm since he needs more mileage.
The price of the bike is 6.000$ without shipping, for more info direct message me. The bike investments are more than 10.000$. Message me on my email 6204278@gmail.com

Nah, I do like these light weight Sur Rons and LMX.

I don't have room for a full size motor bike, I need to carry my LMX up and down stairs to my storage.
It will be way more expensive also, and you need a real driving license for big bikes I guess, at least here in Germany.
The LMX and Sur Ron I can ride with my car license.

A bigger geo for the sur ron would be enough, even my LMX is pretty small.

the light bikes are great but the market will demand all sizes.. some video on facebook of it motocross track riding, well beyond the small bike capabilities.. 90volts, 20kw and a chassis built to handle hard enduro and motocross jumps..

This is interesting. I may end up with one.

tired of your alta?

ALTA is a respectable company, but unfortunately they have closed. SUR-RON will seriously
design and produce quality electric bike at different sizes and power levels in the future.

I'm sold! I haven't found anything that I can't climb with my Sur Ron, but more power for faster acceleration would not hurt.

That and real motorcycle breaks with a proper rear tire (fatter) would be worth an upgrade.

I wonder how much it weighs.

I agree a good upgrade is a sealed headset, but it sounds like you just need to tighten it.

Luna belt drive kit. It's nice and quiet, but there is an issue what was discussed on their facebook page and confirmed that "this wookie growl sound is normal".
Unfortunately they deleted the discussion to hide the facts from future customers.
The issue is a buzzing sound if you accelerate hard.If you accelerate very slowly then it doesn't make that noise.

The sound I recorded:

If there's no load on the drive system then it doesn't make that noise
