Does anyone know whether these cells are discontinued? And if not where can I buy these?

For many years the only A123 chemistry I've seen is LFP

NMC cycle lifetime being so low. . .

Sounds like westart nmc 26ah cell. I tried to buy the 20 ah cell but they said entire production had been sold ? A guy in east Europe had made a pact why they were still selling them but he said it lost capacity after a year or something

third link in a simple google search on the title of the thread
http://www.a123systems.com/automotive/products/cells/

but there's no details, no link to purchase, etc. Just the page showing that they "exist".

But the first two links in the search find places that say they sell them (according to google's results; I didn't visit the sites).

Resurrecting this post. Curious if anyone has been able to purchase these modules. Heavy but seems like a good pack. Thanks. VenomKarts

This site lists that NMC cell @ $45 /piece... https://www.buya123products.com/CellsList.php
If you are a registered business, you should be able to deal with A123 commercially..depending on volume requirements.
Its odd that there is no mention of their very successful cylindrical cells, on the A123systems.com site, but a much wider range of pouches and chemistry’s now.?

Lithium Werks bought A123, along with Valence & Super B

If these listings aren't NOS, maybe they're expanding use of the brand?

By any chance
did you try to buy one of those cells?

Have not been able to find a way to buy it. Would definitely be interested in buying a brand new one. Any leads on vendors?

6.2kWh total pack capacity

would be 520Ah if a 12V bank

So breaking down

22S @ 80.3V = 3.65Vpc midpoint

total 78Ah, rated 10C ? peak ? (6C continuous?)

3P so each pouch 26Ah, looks like pn GPNMC75161227

here you go
https://a123batteries.com/a123-systems-3-7-volt-26ah-prismatic-pouch-cell-amp26-nmc/

$32 each so USD $2,112 for 66 of them, plus interconnect wiring, hard casing, BMS etc

plus delivery of course (~$150-200?)

Given the quality premium the A123 brand has always commanded,

$340/kWh seems pretty reasonable to me, definitely "EV grade" and not secondhand,

even with the much shorter lifespan compared to LFP, and you do get double the density. . .

Another source, likely pricier depends on shipping

Random Chinese supplier, contact for stock, pricing

465 amps continuous. Could be an 8 yr battery. It must be Lazer welded tabs. How about old A123 Karmen fisker packs I now that repair shoes how a wall of them. Who knows what's wrong with them BMS or a cup of dead bloated cells I have no idea I seen him I looked at him but there are three p in pretty heavy for a bike.

contact some sellers and see if it's available.

Or maybe at least some components
