musk leaving california?

Come back with that nonsense when California’s economy isn’t subsidizing all the Republican parasite states.
Yep. I always get a kick out of red states attacking evil, socialistic California, with the underlying (but never spoken) caveat " . . . but you're going to keep sending us money for our welfare programs, right?"

Jack you are not seeing what is really happening,

It is the People living in Blue States that are reporting on how the leftist , socialist policies are driving business and people out ot the State .

No Attacking going on , exposing what is happening , People in the Blue States are now starting to realize how the policie's hurt everyone .

And since most people here are Democrat/Leftist/Socialist , it is Really the Left that are starting to expose the Failures of such Policies .

When even PBS talks about this you know enough people, on Both the Left and Right , Know enough to make it useless on your part to hide or try to distract the reality of the failed leftist policies .

It was a fun in a way experiment , fun to live through it , but more and more people each day , on both sides are realizing leftist , liberal policies are a failure .
Even if it does work for a few Hippies left out in the country , living in a commune , in their tie-die tee shirts , smoking dope .
It it is a failure for the rest of us.

Of course it is. They love the infrastructure - the universities, the incubators, the Internet backbones. They love the climate. They love the communities with the talented workforce and the work ethic.

So they start their company. And then they think "hey, now that I have made the first steps, I don't like paying for all that stuff I used! High speed rail, what a joke. Of course I'd use it if it was here, just like I use the roads and the commuter rail, but I don't want to pay for it!"

So they start looking for somewhere else to go that's cheaper. Some place where they don't have to pay for all the services and the talent pool that they needed to get started.

So they move to a red state to pay less in taxes. California is still supporting them, of course, by paying (through the federal government) for their welfare systems and their infrastructure. But now they don't have to pay it back.

Ask anyone in the US if they would prefer to not pay their mortgage back if it was legal. 99.99% will say yes.

No Attacking going on , exposing what is happening , People in the Blue States are now starting to realize how the policie's hurt everyone .
I know a great many people here for whom the opposite is true.

California is not paying for Red States through the Federal Goverment , it is the Federal Goverment that pays Millions, or Billions into California,
Look at the entire warefare numbers here in California , much of what they get comes from Federal Money, Money from the middle class in the mostly but not all , Red States .

The wealthy here have plenty of tax write off's in regards to Federal and State Taxes, they do pay allot of local taxes , ... unless they own a business.

I do not know where your " Here " is.

Where I live there is about 2-5 Republicians , and / or non Leftist's , in about 100 people. That is a very low number people per population in my area .

So where I live there is No Attacking, there is in Fact allot of Disapointment with many people . as time goes by / with each passing year , with the failed Lefist Idology .
These are people who are , or were on the left . ( Including me , once a Lefist Hippy ) I have a lifetime now of seeing how the lefists policies have failed me and most everyone around me.

Hey scooterman you need better sources of information.

It is a FACT that California pays the federal government more in taxes than it gets back in aid.

Musk never said he would move his factory out of CA. He was talking about his headquarters which is already spread out all over the world. As I'm sure you know, (or should) he never built the factory, he just took over one already abandoned by GM. He did that because it was the cheapest way to go.

God knows why you still live in CA. Why haven't you moved to where more of "your type" live.

Not sure what the "failed leftist ideology" is.

The ideology that gay/transgender people should have rights? Seems to have worked out despite strong GOP opposition.
The ideology that progress is good, and new solutions are often better than traditional solutions? Also seems to be working out.
The ideology that low carbon/cleaner energy is the way to go? Again, seems to be working.
The ideology that women's rights are important? Again, that's pretty widely acknowledged as a good thing.
The ideology that the rule of law and adherence to the US Constitution is important? Currently under attack but still holding for the most part.
The ideology that individual rights should be more important than corporate rights? VERY unpopular, and you could claim it's failed, but is still mostly upheld.
The ideology that science is better than superstition? The GOP is always pushing back against that one, but over time science generally wins.

Which "failed leftist ideologies" are you talking about?

It is the Blue States and Big Cities that are the Parasite's .

The data don’t show that at all.

(Picked because of its simple ranked list with dollar values attached.)

The takingest states lean Repug, and the payingest states lean Dem. California, whatever problems it may have, pays its way.

The thing that gets me is all this energy we have to spend trying to counteract this idiotic disinformation.

Trump is just a symptom, hoodwinked by our enemies' propaganda

fools all of them

Balmorhea,

You left out a very important sentence of that article you linked to,
Here it is , in Quotations ...

" The majority of states – including Vermont and California – ultimately get more money back than they contribute. "

So in other words California gets more money back from the feds than they contribute ... meaning California is the Parasite .
In any case , when I say the blue states are Parasites, I am not only talking about the money they take to pay for the programs for the large numbers of people on Public Assistance,
I am talking about what PBS and other't talk about in regards to energy and food ,
The big cities are Parasites also in regards to using more of the nutrients from the land than the less populated states who also grow allot of the food ( even though California does allot of food production in the form of crops , the other states out produce in Livestock , Corn , Soybeans, Pecans , and many other crops )
Then there is the Energy from Coal, Hydro , Nuclear . which is located outside of the dense Cities.

PBS , and other programs I have seen show how the Large Populated Areas , which are mostly Blue , are less sustainable in many areas,
besides the money from the Feds,( Meaning the Tax Payers in other States ) .

On the Local News stations for two days they did say he was wanting to move his factory to Nevada or Texas.
One news person said he even threatened that .
So
I do have good news sources ... or the mainstream local media lies .

I do know that he bought the old GM plant, I have known that ever since he first did that.
I was looking at his cars ( the first Roadster ) before he went over to that old GM Plant.

I still live in California because I was Born and Raised here, Living here some 85% or more of my life.
My Type ?
Well more people every day are leaving Leftist Ideologies even here in California. California will experience a shift sooner or later . Sooner than many people think.
Do your research , # Walkaway , # Blexit , # Jexit , those are just some of the people , the majority of the people leaving the Democrat party and moving to the Right do not even talk about it publicly .
The Shift is coming and it is going to be bigger than you think.

I am just sitting back watching it all happen , it is entertaining .

Stop resisting , stop getting angry about it , Accept it with open arms .

Yeah, most of my immediate family and my Dad's sister's family were born out of state, but myself and my cousin my age were born here. They mostly went back where they came from, the cousin went to Australia, I'm the only one still here. It's still home to me even though in so many ways it isn't. I wish the weirdos had picked some other state to congregate in. Hey Trollobie, where else would you like to take your cohorts to?

He's a troll. The whole point of resisting it is so he can get angry.

I don't know why you bother trying to communicate with it. He's happy to hate what you say.

Like my father before me, I'm a lifelong Democrat. In that time I've watched the mindless portion of the population reregister from Republican to Democrat. I watched survival of the fittest work in favor of the party I'd hated so much, while at the same time, my own. . . .

If only there could be a 3 party system. Sort of the idiot party. No wait, the troll party. Maybe the troll/head cheese party. I could go back to liking the Democratic party, the Republican party could retain my newfound respect, we could outnumber these others. . . .

But if you want to talk shifts, how did the black community ever decide to switch to the Democratic party? The first black Lieutenant Governor was elected in Louisiana as a Republican. In the same election his successor became the first black Senate President Pro Tem in Louisiana. He would become the 2nd black Lieutenant Governor, as well as the first black Governor. Oh, did you need me to mention his party? He was elected to be the first black U.S. Senator, but oops, the Democrats sent the loser from the election, while the Democrats in D.C. wound up paying him $16,000 to go away. (In Civil War era dollars.) He took it. There was a big problem with those first black politicians being as dirty as they always are, In fact it was common they were worse. Seeing has how it was identity politics that got them in, what would you expect? That was tax dollars they paid him off with, not Democratic party money. But there were a few good ones that managed to slip through.

If you read it, you'd find that the value in question is $12 /person/year. California is the state that sits closest of all to break-even. Statistically, it's in the noise.
Compare Virginia and Mississippi with several thousands of dollars/person/year.

Repug states are strongly overrepresented among takers, and Dem states are strongly overrepresented among payers.

It was republican. (Remember Ronald Reagan?) Then Silicon Valley happened, and educated people started flooding in.

Start of 2017 R/D in the US: 28/25
First two weeks of last April: 27/31

Trump is driving people away from the GOP.

Meanwhile, here in CA, the democratic party has been holding pretty steady at 43-44% since 2006. The GOP has been declining for decades. As of 2018, they were at 26%.cal_voters.png
Stop resisting , stop getting angry about it , Accept it with open arms .
Agreed. If you don't like it, leave. If you want to live here, then live here and accept it. Whiners get no one's respect.

Seems almost redundant to ask, but you really should at least make some sense in those statements. Why in the world would you lecture at a long time resident about the education of Californians?

JackFlorey said:

Well, not him personally, he sends his chauffeur. But the Pew disagrees with you. I'll put their graph up straight from the website rather than upload something from who knows where. So how do you explain away that your graph begins before Trump? How did he start this when he wasn't even involved? What about the upswing of registrations in 2016 because of a certain candidate? What about the party record for most primary votes? What about what is happening in 2020? https://www.politico.com/news/2020/02/16/trump-campaign-voter-turnout-115338 It helps to actually know something.

It was Republican registration that was on the rise from the late 1970's and into the 80's, a new college graduate was more likely to be a Republican. This shifted, will shift again, there's nothing to that story for you to make a big deal about.

If you don't like it, leave. If you want to live here, then live here and accept it.

It's just so funny the way puny people like you think you get to boss and bully others. You really think you get to tell people they have to leave, they have to be beaten into submission. I just picture you cowed by everything until you're alone and railing at all the things you have no power over, then you get on ES and show people who's boss.

While I was never so rude and ignorant about it, I did have your attitude about Republicans, which I outgrew. The decline of my own party played a big role in that. The difference between us is I never said anything about that out of enjoyment, plus of course I limited what I said to what was true. It's easy for an isolated individual like you to see the world as one big fight, tunnel vision works best when there's nothing to see. But as Nietzsche said, '. . . .When you look into the abyss, the abyss looks into you.'

Did you know that the first woman elected to Congress was a Republican? Do you know why not one woman in her state voted for her? They weren't allowed to. She introduced legislation that became the 19th Amendment. Her party had fought this battle for 40 years, as the Democrats opposed it. Doesn't this just KILL you?

Have you ever read a post? Do you ever think? Both are fair questions given your behavior. Anyone who has been reading me would say that was a ridiculous comment by you even before considering where fair comment ends and insult begins. Someone like you who is trolling about for opportunities to be on the attack has no business considering much of anything an insult.

I realize that you and Billy Jack consider yourselves to be in a world where you can rage against anyone you like and none dare say a word about it, but the fact is that's just not where you are.

Are you just upset because I posted about women getting elected to congress and getting to vote?

Dang, my car needs to limp to the shop, it's raining so I worry it's safe to go and I wait, you must be so glad you have this day to be annoying.

And yet you cannot figure out why anyone is perplexed at you trying to say I insult people. I guess it all depends on what your definition of Delusion is. Don't think I want to find out.
