What is a good/decent e-bike kit that isn't terribly expensive?

What bike are you going to use it on what wheel size ? I like rear wiheel hubs most important is the battery as it's the heart of the system. Most motors and controllers will last if not over voltage or overloaded as hills sand mud or riding double. ( Load ). Em3ev or Luna for battery. What is your riding terrain flat hills ect how much do you weigh ?
No good cheap way out on battery.

What type of riding are you doing? Also is this on flat ground hills or…

What kind of bike are you trying to convert?

And where are you located, as market prices differ a bit by location, although you were given international sellers.

And what kind of performance for your expenses? I would say $1000 USD is more than enough to go fast/far, while $500 will build you a slower bike with short range.

I always want to ask if that's a rhetorical question. As they are saying, you must have more parameters to follow.

So if were me I'd at least a 26" bike. I live around some hills, not in a totally flat neighborhood myself. I see 1000w as a minimum. And I want rear wheel drive.

Two kits I've bought in the past:

https://www.yescomusa.com/products/26in ... 1597&_ss=r

https://www.leafbike.com/products/diy-b ... -1067.html

Cheap for what they are. Very popular, whomsoever stole them never threw them back in my yard in disgust. Not hard to put together.

If that is not what suits you, tell us what's wrong about it and give us some ideas about what you might REALLY need.

Parameters are as cheap as possible which is when coded means "Isn't terribly expensive"
