Re: SKATEBOARD
if what I am seeing is a single motor to drive both rear wheels,
then you will want to re-consider that.
Your skateboard will not turn if that is the case.
Other than that, looks great. That sprocket looks unique, where did you get it ?
and I imagine you have another piece on the front of the wheel that is used to "sandwich" the wheel in order to keep the sprocket secure ?

1 weel drive was going to make it 2 wheel drive
Re: SKATEBOARD
looks like you may have already done so,
but if not,
try and design it such that the sprocket can be mounted to any of the wheels,
that way you can "rotate" the wheels as the driven-one gets worn out faster.

Re: SKATEBOARD
I think there was a guy on here that drove both wheels with one motor,
i will find the link, maybe only works on dirt...
ran across this,
using a randal comp truck with floating "free spin'' axle,
http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/106 ... _Axle.html
anyways Papo, I am excited to see that you are working on this,
what wheel is that?
another alternative is using the wheels with the belt cogs that are cheaply available for e-boards.
(or the expensive electrifly, really huge, http://wackyboards.blogspot.com/2009/10 ... board.html )
I was thinking of going the easy route and using existing e-board trucks and mounting a brushless motor on it....
not sure how much they sell that back truck for...

Re: SKATEBOARD
E-skateboards just don't get old to me. I can see a well-designed version as a true urban mobility alternative for >3 mile or so.

Looks great. Should hold up nicely.
Are you gonna paint it white or leave the cool "burn-marks" ?
