Is the part of the frame for the crank a one piece?
the bike is made entirely from smaller pieces laminated together.
no different from cf in that respect, the magic is from the petrochemical resin.

videos give a glimspe into how it's made.

From "Driftwood Cruisers", they also make several other frame styles. This cruiser is exactly why I started this thread, to collect ideas on how to make a custom frame without welding / brazing, using common tools. Even if the cruiser style isn't your cup of tea, wood / bamboo means every option is available to any garage enthusiast.

Thanks Toorbough :)
Awesome bikes :D

Oh oh... Somebuddy's getting a woody again.

This is my Bambooster. I built it from bamboo, hemp, epoxy, and a cut up huffy. It has a CB style frition drive, 15ah 24v LiFePO4 battery under the seat, and bamboo frame, fork, handle bar, rack and basket. The seat is plywood lam that I made to fit a template of my back, covered with padding and black cloth.

It's pretty. It looks like a huge labour of love and I'm surprised it as as light as the 38 lbs you mention elsewhere.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BIKE!

For about a year now I been thinkin bout putting together a trike bike just to get down to the beer store and back, made out of recycled parts of a handfull of rescued junk regular bikes with a custom frame put together with glue, screw and tattoo, such as a "2 x 4" wood frame, or, plastic plumbing pipe, or something like that. Maybe including hacksawed metal frame parts glued screwed and bolted with no welding.

This thread is really inspiring and exciting.

I got a feeling in my soul about this man. I pray to Lord God that he be greatly blessed in every righteous thing he tries to do. Make him to be a Righteous Servant to do many wonderful righteous Good Works.

Amen.

Some ebikes in this thread are clearly fakes.

Oh jeez, somebody tell the first year design student to work on something less mature than bicycles.

Oh oh. Another woodie:

Oh goody, another "bike" "frame" with no truss and no meaningful resistance to bottom bracket sway. Somebody tell these nincompoops that bike frames look the way they do because smarter people than them worked on the design for a long time.

Hehe... good point maybe re truss. (Oh! Alt. Planet "Search found only 93 matches: +truss") Though EVer sat on a "bentwood" chair? Very "Wet Coast" (sp?) doncha know (not the good part, the British part of NA). Plus buildup using plys of wood ("plywood"), at least in boat hull construction EXTREMELY "tough stuff". Going other way, one boat hull was "foam core" (plastic), but strength-wise could support TONS (Crews, etc.) w/no apparent stress.

BTW, one shore vehicle currently has no "bottom bracket". Pedals fine.

Bottom bracket is a durability issue. I guess in wood it'll make for some suspension by leaving it off, but that will hasten the demise.

Oh, but looks good in class. The teacher NEVER rides.

I had a calculus teacher that had bikes, even pics or caricatures of him on a bike, on almost everything you got from him and on his website.

So. My current ride, two foot pedal metal leverarms bolt over/on to front wheel axle (in turn supported by trike steel frame). Not sure where a "bottom bracket" would go or how it might work. Will investigate. Thanks!
