axel, you'll want to bookmark this. it's how i rewired the controller for you to add charge port, precharge circuit and phase connectors standard w/ my motors (lol):

and after adding tape:

i'll need to swap the connectors on your bulk charger, so you can't short them like i once did. so bring that whenever you come back. or once i find a throttle, maybe i ride it over!

'05 model on has 150mm axle, but it also has smaller triangle. only 03 and 04 have large triangle (and 135mm axle)..

just tested another magura pot type throttle (like yours) and doesn't seem to work. i'll take my half twist throttle off and we can set yours up with it.

you'll also need two longer screws to attach the miniE to your tapered handlebar:

allex, did you add a regen hall/brake for the brake? or, you ridethelightening? if anyone else, did, i'd love to see pics. i should have soldered in add'l wires for that!

i think andrey mentioned halls w/ 3v range are better than 5v. anyone have a link to one of them?

Yep! I did connect my regen button, on/off.

when you say it worked for you, do you mean it triggers regen? or by 'worked for you' do you mean it just made sense to you?

because my understanding is that the miniE (only) has variable regen, which requires three wires going to a hall sensor (same black & red as throttle but instead of throttle blue, the variable wire is white) and that the regen range is configured when a magnet passes by the hall, as in this horrific image from testing:

Yes it does work(stops the bike). Andrey insist that I make it variable, but This will be a project for later. The mini should have the same functionality as max. Try to add a button.

haha, I love the ghetto hall set up.
What you really need is to let a bit of air into brake lines so they go spongey / give you more travel before biting, then you'll have more regen range before the rears are actively pulling you up

I realise you're just testing at this point but what about if you move the magnet and hall over to the other side of the lever so it's more out of the way of being knocked by your hands ? Have a small band of plastic or rubber or what ever that holds the magnet as shown so it 'rolls' away from the hall ? Might give a little more movement resolution ?

I know it's not variable but here is my contribution to a good combo , the smallest switch I found, pretty nice to set in tiny places with cyanolite then epoxy , you can even ad the micro cutting switch in line...

by golly, it does work.

in pic below, i have a hall wired in for variable regen brake, but am jumping the red and white here (w/ yellow alligator clips in background) and see that it triggers regen (display says 'brake' when regen active):

disregard negative amps - i was charging at the same time.

i've got some old ebrakes that open a switch when the lever is pulled, so might just pull out that switch to attach to my lever, to get full regen whenever i pull the lever, if i can't get variable regen working.

if you recall, i did have variable regen working fine w/ a similar hall, but the controller isn't recognizing the new one when i try to calibrate it.

fyi, i asked andrey, and he said: "And about the hall sensors, there are different hall sensors, some of them have lowest voltage of ~3.2 volts, and some of them have 4.2 volts, the ones with 4.2 could result in errors when using with our controller. so in case of replacement please use the ones with 3.2v lowest voltage."

excellent question. can't remember, but if i had to guess, i may have put it there originally to gauge the range, before finally using the tape to hold it...?

youv probably got it sorted by now but yep, the white wire is the regen "wiper", using the same black gnd and brown +5v as the throttle lead.

no need to let air into the brakes, just adjust the sensitivity with the brakelimits graph screen :wink:

junction box on the bike is to keep eveything DRY. the display lead goes into the back. my regen throttle is a cut down wuxing full twist throttle, not ideal as its hard to use while braking on that side aswell. thumb throttle might be better, but it works ok. seriuos braking power with a cro.

btw- anyone using magura throttles- check where the wires join the pot, mine were seriously frayed from assembly, also my friends,almost to the point of shorting. really dangerous potential :shock:

how is the comfort with the short 2-finger brake lever from the shimano Saint in combination with magura throttle?
It looks like you need very long fingers to reach the lever. Currently i use a thumb throttle and it feels quite comfortable, but i would like to test the magura to have a comparison.

the magura is ok with the saint brake lever, and the reach adjust on the saints helps too. possibly not ideal though.

the regen throttle on the other side isnt so flash as it rotates fowards which makes it awkward with the brake lever:| its just tempory until i get another option.

the adaptto throttle limits mapping/adjust helps a lot because you can turn the sensitivity up to use minimal throttle rotation for controll.

id definately consider the above pot throttle before considering magura in future. magura assembly quality is so dodgy!
