Thanks! :D The washer would be a nice finishing touch. Sanding the pvc to get it nice and grippy would probably help a layer of loctite red stick (similar to pediglide's original suggestion). If the pvc is a tight enough fit it might not even be necessary.

Will a hub adapter need to be designed from scratch or are there any other options available?
 
Just went to Home Depot and couldn't find anything that will work. All of the pvc was either 3/4" or 1".
We may need to make spacers. I'm going to put the smackdown on google tonight.

Yeah, I saw those and that would be the size, But I was hoping to do better than abec 3. Are you going to order these? I think this may be the only bearing supplier shipping from the states...

Yeah LOL. I might be able to get them made for cheaper than $200 but IMO anything over $50 is too expensive lol. We would need 8 of those things too.

I like the cheaper solution lol. Those are nice $8 total w/ shipping in US. Are you getting those? I might just get these too.

Messed around with the pulley today. I tried to used collar nuts throughout the process hoping to not have to drill through the spokes but I wasn't able to get it quite right...May still just drill a few holes. The one good thing though was that the 9mm pulley is going to center up perfect on these randalls.

Cool. Can't wait to get mine in. Should be on it's way. Do you think the 44T on that pulley is good for the gearing ratio of that wheel? I wouldn't be surprised if more people buy these 6" pneumatic tires soon.

Why wasn't it fitting right? Is it due to the holes on that pulley that you have? Would be nice if they fit lol. I actually only designed those for ABEC 11 Flywheels.

For mine, I'm probably going to 3D print a hub centric adapter and use a few different polycarbonate pulley wheels in different sizes. 158mm tire, 280kv 50mm SK3 motor, 6S, 40T/16T would be about 40 to 44mph. Although, not sure how the starting torque will be. Will definitely have to try it out. If not a 45/50T perhaps.
 
If you guys can crack this and get good results on the road, make sure you post a follow up with parts/prices. I'm watching this thread like a hawk. lol. :shock:

The 44 I bought from you has 6 holes and the wheel has eight spokes (holes in larger pattern as well)
I used a a big washer and drilled 3 holes for the pulley and 4 holes for the wheel. I put some barrel nuts between the spokes and screwed it all together with 6mm hardware.

Think its gonna work! I got it all centered up. Cost 4 bucks in hardware.

*the wheels have a large hole for the valve stem allowing the tube to bubble though...I bought a few rubber washers to put around the valve stem inside the hubs. That closed the gap.
 
I received the 8x28x9 bearings today and they seem to be a little sloppy fitting...Weird because I have some 10x28x9 bearings that fit perfectly :roll:

What's messed up about the new bearings? I bought some other bearings on ebay too. I'll see which ones are better. Wondering when I'll receive my wheels.

They fit too loosely. Guess I could tape them but I would rather have a perfect fit.
