Welcome. What I started to say in the other thread was, "I remember how much I loved this old British import 'Thunderbirds.' '. . . .In SUPER MARIONATION.' And they had such great stories." But now the other thread is HERE.
Another old British import that seems so dated now but was fascinating when I was a kid was the middle years of 'The Avengers,'' with John Steed in charge and Emma Peel as his protege. For those who only know that part of the show, it started off to be about a doctor who was romancing his nurse and they were sometimes sucked into some low key drama. It would get interesting on occasion when that tough Cockney cop, John Steed, got his rough edges involved. Then someone got a brilliant idea.
The doctor and nurse disappeared, with John Steed going to work for some unspecified government office. And I've learned (Beginning with Steed) about those born within the sound of Bow Bells who venture into government service to lead a new life, going through a transformation, even changing their whole manner of speech to a very specific sound, a bit less colorful than Cockney but far more dignified. Now if he had to deal with ruffians, he did so with flair---and his umbrella. But the one who would really dish it out to the hooligans was trainee (And former Olympic Gymnast????) Emma Peel, whom I believe is the originator of the dance fight. And they'd be off on some surreal adventures: The Nanny Uprising, you'd be amazed the weapons they could stash in those baby buggies. And was that a REAL Alien Invasion? "Steed, you best get in here before they cut me in half with this laser." Then she quit, the replacement was miscast, it went downhill fast.
What is this mysterious unnamed hand moving threads around without notifications or warning?
Adam Smith? Sounds like another classic adventure that could be handled by the Avengers.
