Iiii lliikkke it! Much nicer than a Segway. Wouldn't want to go fast on it maybe. But who knows. Just with you feet like that doesn't look like a fast mover

I think I would find it awkward to stand flat and straight like that. Split in two (extra wheel on each obviously) so your feet were independent would be neat.

I must say, it's got a really nice form to it. The board looks quite intuitive and easy to use. I feel it could lose a bit of weight too, 4kg is heavy for what it is, it's not practical enough to warrant carrying as a legitimate final mile solution with those specs. A scooter/skateboard is a similar weight for much more swag.

what is the speed? range?
sort of seems like a waste to c arry that around if you go at just about the same speed as walking...

edit: specs

well it got funded so someone thinks they could use this and fly at 5mph for a full 5 miles...

I've seen the I/O Hawk, the Inventist Hovertrax, and I want one.

My dilemma. I can spend $1500, I can spend maybe $500.

Anyone know of one pretty similar in quality but for much cheaper?

Damn they are really charging that price. That's like 1/4 of a longboard.

I'm sure, you can get one for less than $800-1000.

That's pretty pricey. The going rate for those wholesale are about $200-400. They are making a killing on it.

They sadly suffer from the same problem as segways....theres no way to ride one without looking like a bell end. Even the...sharp looking young lady in pink cant pull it off, and I didn't stop looking at her...eyes.

eBay has been littered with them for ages. Type two wheel skateboard and see hundreds for sale from China.

it does suffer the same stupid looking syndrome as the Segway. Segway tours are all over golden gate park and they look like a tribe of slobs who cant walk or cycle. Yet they are allowed to ride all over the sidewalk where you're not even able to skate or bike. A powered vehicle that's allowed on the sidewalk. I guess it's perceived as safe, and likely is, but it's annoying when the tour rolls by and expects you to get yourself and your dogs out of the way. But the inventor did die riding one so not too safe.

They had to get special permission from the City for segway tours.

and Dean Kamen, the inventor is still alive. :D

You can find them for 300-400 shipped on various Chinese shopping sites like Alibaba, AliExpress, Banggood, DHgate, etc.

The cheapest price seems to be $310 on Aliexpress, see the link below. Aliexpress is really a gamble because if it breaks a month after buying it there is very little you can do.
