Installing the BF motor kit front light

I just found this thread.
maybe this is the same as the one on the Intructables site.
Mr. Hodala, this is very interesting.
I want to try to make a tilting trike with a mechanism like the one you made.
Of course I will adjust it with materials that are easy to get or buy around me.
Thank you in advance.

I guess you mean the laser cut plates, it's easy to order the place I live

Wish you enjoy the leaning trike fun

I'm building an active lean trike now for aged people

By the way; I'd just finished a subject, a smaller trike than my works before, with an export trade company who'll supply product for a Japanese buyer they were said retired from PANASONIC e guys, as aged people, they want to supply aged peoples with leaning trikes for safty

As e guys they have less knowledge about mechanism, revised my design in 3rd sample trike only to failed, so I correct the wrong place to build the 4th sample

I can't post pictures for business sake

I've had my kit from Hodala installed for over a year now, and I've finally uploaded some video. I took it on a snowy road with slick tires just to demonstrate the stability. Pretty happy with it! I think with some knobby tires it could be a much safer option for riding in slippery conditions than a bike. The squeaking sound is the brake rotor dragging. The disk tab is bent due to heavy braking.:oop: If I build my own king pins next time, I'll definitely beef them up.
I think my next test will be seeing how it handles heavy loads compared to a long tail cargo bike.

Glad to see your post and know the plate in lack of rigid, I'll remodel the plate with stamping parts in mass production as shown in the picture purple ones and thicker the clamp fix plate

Yes, the handling of the trike is really quite good. Most people that have ridden it say that it very much feels like a bike.
Regarding the disk tab, I think this may require a design change to the knuckle. I think you may need some way to bridge between the front steel plate (with the disk tab) and the rear one (where the steering arm attaches). Or some more direct connection from the disk tab to where the hub axle mounts. The disk tab in the current design is kind of floating with little support.
Otherwise everything is working well. What are your thoughts on the longevity of the rod ends? Both the wear out and the loading of the rod ends in bending? Generally, rod ends are not meant to be used in areas with bending loading.

I'd ridden the bicycle front end kit for 4 years and the knuckles not found deformed yet; I know the structure is not rigid enough so the stamping model of mold already in process since the distributors of Japan for sure to purchase my design

Many type of the leaning trike also use the rod end products like the Harley and some famous bicycle trikes, most buggies knuckles use rod ends too, the function and durability will be no problem, once it worn out, its easy to buy everywhere, and it's cheap too

Very nice. What was the distance travelled for this camping expedition?
It's only 20km away from home with some winding trails

Last month camping fully loaded front plastic box was not rigid enough, and rear basket CG too high, so I replaced the former alumi basket and built the alumi pannier box, it's much better maneuverability now

Note that below the item for sale on that page are a bunch of other apparently identical versions for other prices, from this same and other sellers. Guess it's easily cloned. ;)

There were 3 export traders got my front end kit, they are all dishonest businessman, if someone want to be a local dealer, contact me for update kit; front end kit+bike frame will be fine

Would you mind if I moved this to the for sale section?
It's OK, thanks! retail+air freight isn't a good bargain; better cooperate with local distributors

Front loaded cargo trikes are more popular in EU,but I can't use German

I really like the front end that you built, and I also love Kawasaki's Noslisu cargo trike: Front Loading Tilting Cargo Trikes .

What a wonderful world it would be if they could be made one and sold in the US. I'd be more than willing to do the motor, electronics, and battery myself.
