Update: i didnt get the 54p raise :( i got a £1.50 raise instead!!! :D (no extra commitments either :) ) for whatever reason i wasnt told, and i only noticed looking at my payslip today (today is payday also), i went and said thank you straight away. asking for a raise, advice needed

thanks for the help, all good advice. After reading Quinc's post, and i think about it, a point i made to get the first raise was that amazon just opened a warehouse 2 minutes from my house and they are looking for trained reach/counterbalance flt drivers. :D its kinda awkward as im friends...

    Free energy machine

that patents a fun read :D Ive always toyed with "free" energy devices, mainly of the raidowave harvesting type. They dont create free energy, they harvest it. with minimal results, i began to wonder why it worked but only barely. mW to 1/10th of watts of power. my surmation was the issue is...

asking for a raise, advice needed

At my job for over the past year i received minimum wage for 6 months (on agency). When i was offered a contract they tried to pay me minimum wage again and i said "no, i want more for my skills" (electrical, mechanical, flt, prior experience etc etc). I ended up with an extra £1.60 per hour over...

work fuse box breakers trip sometimes, including rcd plug. (uk electrics question)

im the rma person there (returned merchandise authorization) i test/fix the returned products (led street lights) some trip and/or pop stuff. also the testers (essentially live mains prongs) pump mains voltage into the new lights other staff use, and i guess sometimes they miss :S. tripping...

work fuse box breakers trip sometimes, including rcd plug. (uk electrics question)

intermittant problem at work. wanted some clarification at the warehouse at work....there is a larger fuse box with a single large breaker feeding a fuse box inside a portacabin. most/all of the sockets in the portcabin have a built in rcd (LN trip delta of 30ma). some of the test equipment...

    another BMS not BMSing :(

well... 3 cycles in....the thing charges up fine...discharges fine. nothing is out of balance... my dad says hes never seen the battery light go below 2 bars while hes used it.... he leaves it on charge for a while after use.... usually for a day/24hrs. chargers rated at 2A (manufacturer of it...

air shock (natural leakage + refill consequences)

due to the very nature of air being made up of loads of different gasses..... some molecules/atoms being tiny and able to escape through rubber and seals etc, while some are big and cannot escape.... due to the above, over time things like tyres and im guessing air shocks can leak the...

balance charging non-lithium on imax b6, turnigy accucel, isdt?

i have made a lithium for the dog but....as wonderful as it is it seeing him move with more pep and speed. i worry about decreasing the life of the brushes in his movement motors. hes quite old now. i suppose i should really check the current nimh hes using and see what V each cell is at....and...

    xt60 xt90 terminal grease or anti-corrosion methods?

just wondering as my xt60 and xt90s on my bikes get rather dirty terminals. i think its combination between sparking and getting the connectors wet in the rain. the xt90s are the anti spark variety....but they still spark unless i wait 10s or so before i fully plugging them in. just wondering...

axle and nut materials (should i use lubricant or threadlock?)

i dont think lockwire would help much with regards to regen tbh. unless i tensioned two bits of wire on the same nut in opposite directions, probably not even then. i think the constant shifting between acceleration and regen would eventually fatigue snap the lockwires anyway. as ive found...

axle and nut materials (should i use lubricant or threadlock?)

been having a think about this, a liquid threadlocker.....while still liquid also has a lubricating effect, with the added bonus of drying out to remove said lubricating effect. it says it inhibits rust aswel (like oil/grease), thus aiding in ease of unassembly. the only downside i see in...

disc/brakepad alignment? (using all the disc)

glad to hear proper alignment helped....turns out its quite important. it would appear the brake efficiency lost by not using all the surface area isnt exactly linear. in respects to % pad surface used vs pad wear increase and brakeing efficiency. i.e. 90& of pad surface used equates more so...

balance charging non-lithium on imax b6, turnigy accucel, isdt?

just wondering if i add a balance lead to my i-cycbie robot dogs nimh battery and put it on any of the titled chargers. will it balance charge?

disc/brakepad alignment? (using all the disc)

i would say that wasnt a result of cheap rotors.....my friend was running his calipers too high and not using all the brake pad surface. i would imagine the extra wear biased to the outside of the disc and resulting excessive differential heating lead to an early failure.

lithium batteries never seem to fully self balance while in parrallel?

ive been ummng and arring over doning exacly that (more chargers) for a while my current isdt is great. 600w max, but i only have a 12v power supply for it so its limited to 300w. which is still a decent 10a charge rate at 24v 6s. finding two more isdts and a reasonable power supply for...

lithium batteries never seem to fully self balance while in parrallel?

i knew people would mis read that. (read it again) i have 3 x6s 11ah, and 3x 6s 20ah......i do not swap or mix and match between the different 11ah and 20ah sets..... i.e. i only use/charge the 11ah with its other 11ah batts in its set of 3, and in only use/charge the 20ah with its...

disc/brakepad alignment? (using all the disc)

little update.....needless to say my friend was running his calipers too high, not using all the pads and had a badish time, the results to the disc were pretty catastrophic. luckily everything else including him was ok, he didnt even come off the bike. here are the pics of his disc after the...

    another BMS not BMSing :(

that could be a posibility, im not sure how low he has run it and how often. im not even sure how long he leaves it on charge. i will inquire this is why i prefer to set up my bikes without a bms, and use a "smart" charger. slightly more hassle to charge....but i can check/access each cell quite...

clamping torque arms, what are my options?

i have purchased several of the hammer ebike type recently....the 5mm thick stainless ones (two normal and one one star adjustable). ive only put one normal one on my e-bmx. Nice quality parts! i also left out the jubilie clip and arm part and went straight for the m6 bolt in a tapped hole in my...

clamping torque arms, what are my options?

i was looking for a heavy duty clamping style torque arm....mainly so i can have regen braking not undo my axle nutss. ive only found one type of clamping torque arm. https://nexun.pl/en/products/universal-heavy-duty-clamping-torque-arm-for-m14-axis-motor-856.html just wondered if there are...

    another BMS not BMSing :(

i have a clamp ameter but it says it only does ac :( havnt tried it on dc. its the bms cutting off charging once cell one reaches roughly 4.25v. so i guess no balancing. :s im seperately charging each cell with a my turnigy accucel. 5 cells in, so far so good....no heater cells, cells are...

    another BMS not BMSing :(

my dads 250w ebike was cutting out under load.... lots of voltage sag. its got 18650 tesson cells (2200mah) in a 10s5p arrangement. cell one was at 4.1v and every other cells was from 3.4v-3.9v it has a tiny bms but its pretty evident its not doing what it should be, or is it? id imagine a...

lithium batteries never seem to fully self balance while in parrallel?

I use two different sets of 3x 6s lithium batts in series for 72v on my bikes (an old 11ah rc lipo set and a newer 20ah eig cell set). i connect all 3 (per set) in parrallel for charging on my 6s isdt charger. i set the max charge per cell to 4.15v i check the individual voltage of each cell...

what does my hubmotor serial number actually mean?

im really not sure about manufacturer brand, it was a generic ebay kit i got about 7 years ago. i think its a 9c china clone i never got a choice of winding options or a kv rating. essentially im thinking about replacing/getting a new motor, and id like a little less top speed and little more...
