I've tried this. I used Dimension Engineering's Sabertooth and accelerometers. It does not work like a Segway with 2 wheels or tanks with 2 tracks because the skateboard has 4 wheels. It actually lessened the speed on the turn and increased the turning radius. With full power on both left and...
Hi Mark, I'm from carvon. I may have missed your email, I apologize for that. If you send me another one, I'll be sure to reply.
Best place to see carvon riders is at https://www.facebook.com/Carvonskates/
Not bad. Put two TACON motors, a double-drop deck, 2 VESCs, and the Space Cell, you've got a high-powered off-roader able to slam down Evolve AT....and cheaper too!
Nice. Yeah, after getting over the thrill of 35+mph speed runs with my stiff Jet Machine deck, I just want to use my board for doing errands around the city. And the flexible deck setup and split enclosure really helps with the bumpy roads and carrying the deck, which I spend a lot of time doing...
Unless you want to ride your E-board like a hoverboard, a little kick before starting is no biggie. The motor will be fine even when used "unsensored."
I really like this flexible board setup. It's like an independent-suspension system. The hit from the road on the front truck barely transmit to the rear truck, and vice versa. Everything stays on and no rattling noise.
The split enclosure design is also great because the weight of the hub...

You will be slower with the same gearing because your motor has 149kv compared to the 192kv, but a Single 149kv will be enough to move you up 15% hill.
Snowboarding on the streets!
haimindo, sending two of these CF hubcaps and screws to lighten up the hubs. They make it almost half a kg lighter.
That's a really good explanation on why the ESC's turning on when going downhill even when they are not plugged in to the battery. I'd still like to know why a 4:1 gear-ratio has less coasting ability than a 2:1 gear-ratio. Is it the belt, is it mechanical or electrical? Why do the magnets feel...
If you have a geared setup that is 4:1 or lower (meaning 5:1, 6:1, etc.), is the regenerative braking being activated when you go to neutral especially when travelling at high speeds or going downhill?
Where does all of those amps go that the motor is now generating? I've heard of instances...
Nice! Good to see some real world performance of the hubs. Your build looks awesome, it's simple and clean.
IMO, the more important problems to be solved with hub motors is not electrical but mechanical. The stator should stay still, the urethane shouldn't slip off and the ride quality should...
I bet if you use a 12s battery pack, you can easily go past 30 mph. But I think it's a great setup already, considering it's only a 1WD.
It's a good deal too. A Single Motor kit with complete trucks and wheels + free shipping (which is the lowest compared to other Single Motor and complete...
That would be cool! Don't use a remote, you could have interference and lose connection. You could use the stroller's handle bar to attach a wired throttle, like Golfboard's:
And with the VESC on FOC mode, the Hubs will run really quietly so as not to disturb the little "bundle of joy."...
You also need to change things in the FOC tab, aside from clicking FOC in the Motor Type of the Motor tab.
Just click Measure R and L, then click Measure λ (Req: R) then click Apply next to those, then click Write Configuration.
Then click Calc CC (Req: R and L) and then click Apply next to...
