    Ebike Savings

Has anyone found a good website that can estimate what one is saving by commuting via Ebike versus a car? Or a comparison cost analysis between the two? I'm not talking about the difference in how much they cost to buy which I already know, but rather the cost of owning and using.

    cold hands

Now that I am going 30mph in temperatures from 30 to 40 degrees in the Winter, I am finding it difficult to keep my hands from getting numb (I've figured out how to keep the rest of me warm), particularly my right thumb which is holding down the lever. Above 40 degrees, I am fine. I currently am...

    3x12v 12ah battery life

And if I do get a lithium pack, how much longer will it last...if I get one with enough amp hours to get me there and back without charging?

    3x12v 12ah battery life

Wndering how long I can expect 3x12v 12ah lead acid batteries to last me. My commute is 7 miles each way, one way is a very slight upgrade (in a car one would think it flat) with one small short hill. The throttle is down all of the way for 90% of the commute and I am pedalling almost the whole...

    Battery Containers?

I bought a sla 3x12v 12ah battery pack today (12"x6"x4") and my controller is about 2" thick and about 3"x5" or so. I want to put them on my bike rack in the cheapest and simplest way. Here are my questions: Will a plastic toolbox work or will it break? I saw some today that would hold the...

    sla 3x36volts 12ah

I've never used ebay but I think I'd like to get these from this seller. Is there a way to search by seller. I looked under 12volt 12ah batteries but didn't find any by that seller or at that price.

    sla 3x36volts 12ah

Does anyone have an approach to buying sla 3x36v 12ah batteries. My local electric bike shop is selling a pack already wired for $105 (manufacturer: Weida). How can I know if they are of good quality...or are they all the same? Can they be tested at the shop before I buy them?

    weida

Does anyone know of the quality of 'Weida' batteries, apparently from China? I can get 3x12volts 12ah from my local electric bike shop all wired up for $105.

    Just batteries

I'm 175 pounds and my bike is a Magna from either Target or Costco. It seems average in weight. I need to go 7 miles at least on a slight uphill grade (in a car you'd think it was flat but on my bike my batteries definately feel the difference.) There is one 100 yard hill of more incline but not...

    Just batteries

I am not technical at all -just want to get my bike going so I'm happy. I am in search of either sla batteries 3x12volt 12ah (I may even need more amp hours) or LiFePO4 10 or 15ah. I don't want to pay $500 for the LiFePO4 but I am very interested in them anyhow. I live in the Bay Area (east bay)...

LifePo4 Battery Packs for the Average Guy

OK, I am a newie. I currently use sla 3x12v 8ah and the duration is not enough. I've thought about sla's 3x12 12ah or even more. I've thought about LiFePO4 but for $400 or $500 it's just seems too much. I'm not technical and I really have no interest other than getting my bike to an adequate...

aetoma motor and battery for my commute

OK. My aim was a little high regarding batteries. For now the LiFePO4 is too expensive. I think I'll go for the sla at 36 volts. Based on what you (Dogman) say and others 12ah is OK for my commute if I'm using 48 volts. So, with only 36 volts what would I need? I'm guessing 20ah...or would 15ah...

aetoma motor and battery for my commute

OK, so Lifepo4 36v is the way to go. From EV Components a 10ah BUT from Ping or High Tech (about an hour and a half from where I live) a 15ah. After draining my lead acids and cutting their duration in half I don't want to be worried about that again. I also don't want 40 pounds on the back of...

aetoma motor and battery for my commute

Wow! I really appreciate your help. Based on your response (and some others) I think I will keep my motor. I am almost certain my motor is brushless and the controller (or motor) is without sensors. I asked about these two things because in the little research I did, those two features seemed to...

    aetoma 750 watt motor

I have recently bought a front hub aotema motor which draws 750 watts. My seller originally said: "these motors are wound tighter for higher speeds". Being new to ebikes I didn't -still don't- know what that means. However, with 36 volt lead acid batteries and 28" wheels it goes 25mph on flats...
