Anyone know about/tried TOSEVEN Mid Drive?

But is that with a Toseven throttle or Bafang throttle? I have a Bafang-compatible horizontal thumb throttle that I like and I'm not a big fan of vertical thumb throttles like Toseven uses. I was concerned because their website says: Or is that referring to the display only?

Anyone know about/tried TOSEVEN Mid Drive?

What about adding a throttle to the DM02? Would replacing the stock 1T3 cable with a standard 1T4 work? Would the standard Bafang/TongSheng throttles work or do they need proprietary ones?

    STC-8116LD charger - 90% cutoff?

I wonder if I was shipped the wrong product. I ordered a charger with a battery pack and chose the option for a charger with a 90%/100% switch. What I got was the STC-8116LD, which has a switch labeled L - H. Is this the 90% capacity cutoff switch, or is it a rate of charge switch?

    How to weatherproof bullet connectors?

Maybe there's another connector in the line that's supposed to be connected and disconnected while the bullet connectors are only there to connect the pigtails. But it doesn't take a genius to know that.

    How to weatherproof bullet connectors?

Yeah, I guess the companies like EM3EV and Tongsheng who put out wiring harnesses using these connectors are a bunch of idiots, unlike the geniuses here. When did Endless Sphere become infested with useless cynics? It used to be a helpful forum. At least there are still users like...

    How to weatherproof bullet connectors?

That's how the wires come. I don't want to spend time and effort cutting them off and re-splicing.

    How to weatherproof bullet connectors?

Total noob question, but any suggestions on how to weatherproof these if they'll never need to be disconnected? I'm thinking a little dielectric grease then heat shrink tubing. Or should I skip the grease?

    DIY vs. Commercial: How/ Why(not)?

Relax, John. Casainho is okay. I got annoyed with all the software development discussions he poured into the general TSDZ2 topic, but the open source firmware is legit and they've all put a lot of work into it. If he thinks that firmware is great (and quite a few users seem to agree), then he...

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

One thing that concerns me is the drive sprocket. It appears to be a custom-made sprocket, which means that it could be made obsolete by the company one day if they move on to newer products, or spares would be unavailable if the company goes out of business. Without that sprocket, the entire...

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

By the way, what is this topic doing in the Items for Sale forum? It should be in E-bike Non-hub Motor Drives.

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

Apparently, you reuse your existing BB, as long as it's square taper or ISIS, so any length you want if it's available with those interfaces. The torque sensing setup reminds me of the old Charger ebike I had back in the '90s, which worked well enough.

Luna Fixed Stealth 400w torque sensing mid-drive bike

Having a bit of a hard time wrapping my head around this one. https://lunacycle.com/luna-fixed-stealth-ebike I assume the motor has a rotor and planetary gears mounted on the bottom bracket spindle. That's kind of neat. Beats having a separate, bulbous motor casing sticking out like Bafang...

My RC Mid Drive with Single Stage Reduction

I had an idle thought a little while back about a two-stage reduction mid-drive sort of like that. The jumbo sprocket would be on the left side, replacing the left crank completely. Just big enough so you can have a threaded hole inside the outer radius to attach the left pedal to. To avoid the...

    Fireproof charging bags

They don't make Liposacks big enough for decent size ebike battery packs. They're designed for small RC packs. I already wrote that most steel ammo cans are too small for large battery packs. Current models are only 11" long on the outside and shorter still on the inside. The only ones that are...

    Fireproof charging bags

Has anyone actually used any of these and had a battery fire contained by the pouch? I know one practice is to charge inside a steel ammo can, but it's hard to find one of those big enough for larger battery packs. I can charge inside my oven, which would be safe and free, but not a convenient...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Sigh. I give up. Not going to read this topic anymore since it's 99% hacking talk that's of no interest to most purchasers of the unit.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I find the open firmware development intriguing, but is there any way the discussion of it can be shifted over to the other topic that casainho started for it? This general topic for the TSDZ2 has become overrun with that discussion, which may give new readers the impression that hacking the...

Any suggestions for reliable battery supplier?

Thanks. Now Luna is back in consideration. And of course, just when I wrote that they no longer seem to have the 14AH pack, they're back in stock. It may or may not actually meet the claimed 50A spec, but since I'm only considering a ~750w kit, even if it's off by 50%, it should be plenty.

Any suggestions for reliable battery supplier?

Again, I'm flexible for now. I'm not asking for you guys to choose a specific battery for me, but a supplier that can be trusted. Maybe I'll choose more capacity. Maybe I'll go with higher rate. I can make those decisions later. For now, I just want to know what dealers to look at. Surely...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I wouldn't hold my breath for that. I doubt Fallbrook is going to be much different or do much better if and when they emerge from bankruptcy. Are you always misspelling this for a reason? I trust it's not intentional. It's either Bafang or, if you want to use their original name, 8fun. But not...

Any suggestions for reliable battery supplier?

Well, I'm not picky. This won't be for a very high power kit. Just looking for a supplier so I can peruse the selection on their website. I've seen people say not to use Alibaba/Aliexpress and for some reason, there seems to be a lot of hate for Luna around here, so I'm looking for other options.

Any suggestions for reliable battery supplier?

Interested in a 18650 battery pack, 52v, at least 12AH but not too much more. Looking for something not outrageously priced, under $700. I'll be carrying the pack in a seat bag, so don't need a dolphin case. I rather like how small and light Luna's Mighty Mini Cube is. They used to have a 14AH...

    Critique this performance velomobile idea

No, it doesn't. The statute says it has to have "the ability to be propelled by human power alone." That just means it needs a bike drivetrain that you can pedal if you have to. "Highway" in Texas-speak means public road. I'm pretty sure if you kept the right as on a bicycle, you wouldn't have...
