Hello people, I'm please to report on a new open source version ESC. This board uses NVMTSC4D3N15MC MOSFETs but still is a MP2: Designed to run 300A at 150v (so far only tested at 100v) Fully compatible with VESC using the STM32F405 pill Cheap to order -- manufacturing files ready to upload to...

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I have ordered these and like A-DamW I did not have an issue. I also have had the experience when JLC has found problems in boards that I have submitted before and there were no complaints. Agree with badgineer -- making that change seems fine to me.

My last order for 10 boards was $232 USD not including shipping. Then you'll need: 18 FETs (see this page for suggestions [LINK] some caps DCDC converter for 12v (example: PQDE6W-Q110-S12-D) DCDC converter for 5v (example: XP power VR05S05) headers (example: 929850-01-20-10) the cheapest...

So I encourage you to order from jlcpcb --it's unlikely that you save money by ordering the constituent parts and doing it yourself. We typically use jlcpcb to handle all the SMD parts and you solder the rest. What we've found is for many people this is a very hard project if you dont have a...

Regarding a fan header, yes you certainly could solder to 12v and gnd on the underside coming off of the low side of buck converter. I have bluetooth on mine. I dont use VESC but in my case I connected it to one of the serial ports and it worked without problems. Flipsky ships a BT board (and...

    NEW QS 165 MOTOR

have a look at this post [LINK] where I got 720 ehz. RPM = ehz * 60 / polepairs therefore it produced 6,170. This was with 18S and brilliant field weakening firmware written by @mxlemming. Note that QS is now shipping a version 2 with specs that will probably be better than my motor.

@andrewwinter - I've mentioned this before but be sure to have a look at our docs for testing the MP2 to check for potential problems. @mxlemming - I wonder if we could also generate some docs to help people debug/test their opamps. 🤔

Greetings people. A set of performance plots for the MP2. Results are based on the latest MESC firmware build with field weakening. Firmware used for testing was developed by @mxlemming and is available here [LINK] . MESC documentation is available [HERE], questions about firmware operation...

Regarding this and your previous post about busbar holes -- I dont claim to know the best way to do it all and, without seeing a picture it is a bit hard to comment. Go ahead and try some things and report back. The main issue is that soldering and fabrication are more impactful with these...

Regarding bus bars. They dont need to be segmented. Have a look at some of the bus bars methods at this link and let me know if you have any questions. If you are planning at running at high amperage you most certainly want to mount to a heat sink.

And because of noise on the lines. @mxlemming , recall that I was throwing errors that went away after I put a cap across the throttle pin on the F405 pill and ground. @Dayanul Alam please note there is a readme with soldering help for the MP2 here.

building the BESC - 100V, 400A motor controller [NOT RECOMMENDED]

People smarter than myself have reviewed the circuit and have found some minor problems that would not necessarily account for the issues. It may be a combination of: the BOM, the layout of the board, and some aspects of the circuit. I am not sure but I've stopped using the board.

building the BESC - 100V, 400A motor controller [NOT RECOMMENDED]

Max, sorry this is not going to be very helpful, but tbh VESC motor detection is not very good. If you remember your motor values when the ESC was working well you could try to type those into VESCtool manually. The other thing that worries me is for any ESC, if you run some of the components...

... The tubing around your MOSFET retaining bolt is an interesting approach, and I also happen to like using thermal pads. :-) I also like what I see so far of your enclosure, it looks like good progress towards a splash-proof design. Great work -- it's really nice to see your progress!

I assume youre referring to the pill. I agree with the "general rule" and normally use it. The MP2 crew wanted to minimize noise on the pill as much as possible -- badgineer (who designed the MP2) read up on the subject and suggested we try the two inner ground layers. I would not say that we...

Stick with mxlemming's answer he's the firmware expert -- I'm just a pcb layout 🐒🐵. If you create header files and test them under VESC we would be very interested in hosting them at our site. Also please share any suggestions you have for assembly or other relevant issues that could go into...
