"Copper/nickel sandwich" buses for series connections

Hi Spinningmagnets, Thanks for the quick response, those are all good points. It sounds like Arlo1 did mechanically support the cells and I will plan to as well. The heat expansion and contraction of the copper is something I was interested to get feedback on. As for some short races the...

"Copper/nickel sandwich" buses for series connections

How are batteries made with the copper/nickel sandwich method holding up with time? I’m working on a mini dirt bike build and am planning to build a pack with Samsung 40T cells in a 20s4p configuration. I need to pull 70A out of the pack, likely near continuous in a race. Arlo1's post in...

Giant DH Comp Drop Out adapters and conversion

Hi all, Below are some slight changes I have made to the adaptors. First, they don’t need to be filed down anymore to fit into the frame so they will just slide into the frame smoothly. Here is a picture showing the diffrence, the top layer is how the new dropouts look and the middle part is...

Giant DH Comp Drop Out adapters and conversion

Hi ScooterMan, I am currently working on making some more. As we speak, I am making some slight adjustments to them so they will drop right into the frame without any filing needed!

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

The Operating voltage is 24v-98v, although most people recommend not going over 92 volts. A fully charged 6s pack should be able to turn it on. I would think that a user wouldn't want to use any less than 10s when using the controller.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Yes, If the battery is plugged into the controller and the display is plugged into the controller then the screen will turn on. If you have the on/off switch option then those two wires will need to be shorted.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Hi HamsterPower, I wasn't trying to bash Adaptto at all, there is just a few things they need to work on. If a user is only using one board per group of cells, then only ~27 bars on the graph are really needed, otherwise the voltage would kill the controller. However I was using the Adaptto...

2016 North American "Unofficial" Endless-Sphere Convention

I would love to race up Pikes Peak. Unfortunately I'm only free late August to September with school.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

That's pretty much exactly what I said but I was told that the adaptto controller doesn't have enough memory to support more bars. I hope they update it in the future.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I have 3 additional cards and used the Adaptto just to monitor my 33s pack. Don't worry, I charged to 4.1v per cell for a 135v controller (150v FETs) and only sent 70v or so to the Adaptto Mini-E. Unfortunately only 32s can be displayed in the bar graph. I was able to see all 33 cells in the...

Calling All Seattle Electric Bike Riders

That was a really fun meet up ride we had today. It sounds like all the eBikers at the ride were excited about starting an organization focused on bringing eBikers together. This would defiantly be very helpful for people looking to get into eBiking to ask questions in person to speed up the...

    Cromotor Dyno, 13 HP

Thanks for posting this Zombiess! I totally forgot and never got around to it. I had always wanted to get my bike on a dyno but I hadn't since it's so expensive. These tests were for a Presentation in physics 3 in college. The professor loved it and I ended up getting a 4.0 with honors...

    GCinDC's Giant DH Comp

That happened to me a few times. Just noticed it again tonight where all my cells were 1.8-2.2v. sometimes it takes 3 days and sometimes it takes 2 weeks to drain them down. Its a huge bummer :(

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I had a minor issue with one of the Mini-e's that I got for my school after 50 miles or so. I mailed it back for free warranty repair and they fixed it same day they got it and sent it back. It arrived back in Washington less than 14 days after I sent it out!

    E Bike tires

I have a Giant DH Team with Kiwi dropout adaptors, Cromotor, zombies EB324 (135v 150 amp controller). I dynoed it in at 13.14 hp. 16kW is of course the peak I normally average around 50 Wh/m. The last 6 months/1500 miles or so I have been using an Adaptto Mini-E controller and I haven't hit...

    E Bike tires

I have around 11,000 miles on my Giant DH Team and am just about to replace my rear tire for the first time. I use maxxis Hookworms and I haven't gotten a flat yet. With my high power ebike (16kw) my rear tire wears down a lot faster than the front. My front tire still has tons of tread. The...

    Emrax motor with Emsiso Edrive

We are running a 222v nominal pack (competition limited). We don't really have much documentation online. I was going to post some stuff about it on here but I never got to it. In the video you can see how we repackaged both inverters into the same space that one normally takes up. The...

    Emrax motor with Emsiso Edrive

Hi Toby I am on the UW's Formula SAE team and we are currently using dual rear Enstroj Emrax 207 motors so we can do torque vectoring. The motors perform very well, we actually wouldn't mind a smaller motor if they made one. While we have the ability to use more than 80kW between the two...
