BBSHD - 9spd Cassette Issues after installing Lekkie 46T Chainring

I just had my local bike shop install the Lekkie 46T chainring during my last tune-up (the OG chainring was wearing out).

After getting the bike back and commuting to work, I have noticed that ONLY on 6spd the chain sounds like it is trying to go up/down to the next ring on the cassette when under power, me being on the bike, and on the road. Otherwise, the chain seems to have no issues in any other gear including on each end of the cassette.

Having the bike tilted sideways on the kickstand or on a stand so the back wheel is off the ground and shifting through the gears doesn't seem to cause the issue either. I was not having this problem when the OG chainring that came with the BBSHD was on there so it has to be the Lekkie chainring install causing the issue.

Any suggestions for what to try to fix it? I do have a couple spacers for the Lekkie, so could put one of those on and re-index everything to see if that helps.

Did you replace the chain and cassette when swapping out the chainring?

I wouldn't underestimate the idea that maybe 6th is worn out, I had something similar happen where I changed out my chain and rear wheel and I had issues with 4th my most used gear at the time. Visual inspection on the cassette / 4th gear looked fine so I thought it was the new wheel with the high engagement hub not withstanding the torque. Wasn't until I swapped back to the old wheel and noticed it was still happening but specifically in 4th and not in gears that would have more torque and stress on the hub. I installed a new cassette and it went away. I also wouldn't discount a bent derailleur hanger as well, being that it only happens in 1 gear

Based on my riding habits (which I've been paying more attention to the last week to remember to skip the 6th gear) it might be my most used or at least one of my most used. Sounds like I might just replace the cassette if it wasn't during the tune-up.

If it wasn't and you've got a decent amount of miles on it that's my guess, good thing 9 speeds are cheap and even if it doesn't fix it a spare is always nice to have on hand

Better to swap it out sooner than later. It's going to be as worn as the stock chainring, so it will accelerate the wear on your new chain and chainring.

Chain is a 9 speed chain, measured the widest part and it came out correct.

I do not think my current cassette was changed (he might have not had one on hand) but it was at least cleaned up, hahaha. I'm gonna order a new cassette and put it on next weekend to see if that resolves the issue. Thanks for all the insight everyone!
