Hi
I hope some knowledgeable people can share advices.
I have trouble to connect my CNC router ( STB4100 USB Motion Card) to Candle CNC (g-code controller).

Long story short: I use my CNC with Drufel CNC (g-code controller) since many years without problem, but to build more complex parts I've installed Candle CNC on my computer.
I connect my computer to CNC with the USB cable as usual, but Candle didn't communicate with the CNC. I open Drufel and my computer can communicate with CNC. Weird!
After some search, it's look communication port or driver update should be the problem.
Tried to update driver, and look at the com port, but nothing work.
Seem com port 4 is problematic, but don't know what to do. I tried to set Candle with COM4 at 115200, but not much chance.
Before, Drufel was working without com port, or at least no com port was problematic.

Advice?
Thanks.

Restart computer. If all else fails? Unplug computer, CNC machine, and all electronic machines. Pray. Plug everything back in. Turn on.

Do you have a second computer? The wife's laptop? Try that?

What shows when you double click the com4 port in windows device manager?

I'm going to bet that the next screen shows something about a wonky driver

Thanks for your help.
Sadly, I already restart the computer few time without gain.

It could be the USB serial device driver is not compatible with the new device and a different one needs to be installed.

This page may be helpful.

Great help. Thanks, but still no result.
I've try to install CH341SER driver (another time), but there is no USB 2-0 or something interesting in Other devices, so I can't update manually like suggest in minimillr.
I remember that I manually add the COM4 few days ago. Before that there was no communication port in device manager.
Still, my other CNC program Drufel was working. In fact it still work today.
Can I try something else?

I look another time at the problem today and I discovered something.
My CNC controller is only compatible with Mack 3 stuff and not with GRBL controller stuff (so Candle CNC) 😣

Well, if someone know a free Mack 3 compatible CNC software, let me know.
The Drufel software I used is compatible and work fine, simply I'm limited to 5k line of code and that limit me to ''simple'' 2D part.
