Just wondering Is it it just me or has anyone else who has bought a cyclone mid drive had problems with the their controllers specifically with the throttle being awful, the problem I am experiencing with the throttle is that there is an extremely small sweet spot where the throttle will gradually increase the torque. Anything under that barely seems to give any power at all and anything above that will give an extremely jerky start. And I know it’s knot the throttle because I have tested 5 different throttles including the stock one which includes the half twist throttle that comes with what they ship with the kit and 3 different types of thumb throttles that are buttery smooth on my other build that isn’t a cyclone so it must be the controller? For reference it’s this 6000w 80a one that comes with the “programmable” sw900 display that has no way of tuning the throttle or anything else of that matter from my research and the controller that comes with it has no soft start plug hard start plug either. I am seriously regretting not getting the Bluetooth one which I heard is programmable and the throttle can be programmed to whatever you want it to be. Speaking of the Bluetooth controller is it possible to buy it separately or does it only come as part of the whole package? I’d appreciate any help if anyone has had this problem and been able to resolve it.

Unfortunately this is just a fact with cheaper bldc controllers.
You might be able to fix it with a cycle analyst and a shunt.

If I were you, I would just get a modern field oriented control VESC based controller.

I have a Flipsky 75100 VESC controller on a cyclone 3000 on my cargo bike, it works a treat.

Did the throttle work smoothly after the controller upgrade or was it similar to before with the stock controller? Also I want a controller that is not crazy expensive my budget would be like £40 - £100 max for a new controller would that be enough?

I never hooked up the stock controller.
Vesc based are the only ones I use.
All the software is completely open source, and there is a plethora of hardware to choose from.

You may be able find one used for £40.
£100 is more realistic for a new one from say,
Spintend.

Flipsky are only slightly cheaper, but quality control can be hit or miss, also, their current sensing tends to be noiser, so it is harder and risky to tune them for for maximum power.

I circumvent this by running Flipsky at like, ~50-75% rated power.
