I appreciate the transparency Neptronix. In the beginning I was guilty of letting Chalo push my buttons. Even though he wasn't banned from the Stealth thread, he was ran out by a bunch of members calling him out about 10-12 years back. No secret Chalo was/is home or based out of Texas. One time I stumbled across an article where he and some others were reported by the news of donating their time for repairing bicycles in their locality for the fiscally challenged. I thought that was a fairly noble gesture. Since I learned that about Chalo, I became more tolerant of his abrasive disposition. Chalo, in his own way, is kind of like John Wayne toilet paper, rough and doesn't take $h!t off of anyone.Well, unfortunately Chalo is permanently banned.
Previously, i extended a olive branch by moving this thread to a non viewable area when Chalo returned. I told him a few times i'm open and interested to talks to improve the relationship.
None of that was responded to. Instead, i kept getting passive aggressive comments designed to irritate me.
I'm moving this thread back to public view for some conclusion.
Here's how he got banned.
While reprimanding someone for being verbally abusive the second time, he decided to join in with the verbal abuse, in a way that's intended to irritate me also.
“White” Hydrogen ?
This is the exact thing he got banned twice for this year. And it's clear to him i expected him to stop doing that.
This time, i keep the comment up for public view because in the past i usually cleaned up after Chalo without comment to keep the forum peaceful. I did this because in a majority of cases, these were flamewar starters. In the last 2 years, the problem has been particularly bad and i was deleting a few really bad posts per month.
I did everything i could think of to try to get Chalo to stop this. Chalo still believed he's above the rules and can either ignore or shove members of the moderator team around. I think this expectation was built because historically, we let Chalo get away with being extra spicy. But as of recent we have a give an inch, take a mile situation happening with that special leniency..
It's a ridiculous way to go out, and i feel burned for giving him a third chance.
I don't like having to be the head of forum corrections today. I wish things went differently.
Chalo had many great posts over the years. He will be missed by many.
Please join me in pouring one out for our homey:

Thanks for sharing that. I didn't know that, but from my previous experiences with people having similar dispositions, I didn't rule it out, and even suspected that could be the case. That alone was enough for me to be more tolerant, and not judge his character based on the relatively narrow interactions here, but on a bigger picture. Of course, you need to have gained some faith in people to make that work. In the end, I'd hope to be judged on how I've conducted the balance of my life rather than just by my less than stellar moments. One time I stumbled across an article where he and some others were reported by the news of donating their time for repairing bicycles in their locality for the fiscally challenged. I thought that was a fairly noble gesture. Since I learned that about Chalo, I became more tolerant of his abrasive disposition.

I noticed a decline last year, where several veteran members that often provided solid advice stopped participating on the forum. I haven't been here long enough to tell whether it was just the normal ebb and flow, or actual attrition. A few of them have checked in after a year or so, but then disappeared again. It's sad, because when I started with ebikes, although I had a good technical background and education, I quickly learned how valuable knowledge born through experience was and how that provided a much greater value to this hobby. The folks here have/had that. It's really a shame when that knowledge goes away, but, I still learn things being on the forum, which keeps me interested. The longer i'm here the fewer people I know.
Who is chalo?

Me too!!! I wonder what Luke is up to these days, last I heard he was under contract working on some type of Electric Aviation program. Would have loved to see his NYX QS 273 650amp 20s machine get finished.I used to get killer advice for liveforphysics and mwkeefer 15 years ago. I remember YPedal threatening to ban me because i was fighting with drkangel too much. It's natural to outgrow one hobby and move on to another. I've seen 10's of thousands come and go.
IIRC, the fastest E-bike I believe is the Silver Lightning at 6.86 sec. on the 1320.I think maybe it's a dead culture today because EVs blew the doors off of ICE a long time ago,
I think he's one of the founders of RedivivusMe too!!! I wonder what Luke is up to these days, last I heard he was under contract working on some type of Electric Aviation program. Would have loved to see his NYX QS 273 650amp 20s machine get finished.
That's faster than any Mopar I can recall. By almost 40%IIRC, the fastest E-bike I believe is the Silver Lightning at 6.86 sec. on the 1320.
Spiderman" McBride (riding pistons) has run a 5.61
Numbers may have change lately, as I don't follow drag bikes anymore.
