Hurricane Milton brought an unexpected amount of water to my land, about 5ft of water that has never happened before and hopefully never will again. Needless to say I was unprepared and six bikes that are kept here spent approx 6 days completely underwater until the waters receeded. Every bike was toast, every battery corroded and much damage was in all things surrounding and including this property. I could pour water out of every hub I had except one that was on a higher shelf thankfully. So I get to my Ecotric after reviving my old Jetson and my girl's SwFT and this thing is fighting me the whole way. Things which were one step operations turned into multi-day multple of steps that just shouldn't happen. But I continued and just about ready to close the hub to test the newly cleaned and refurbished motor (36v 500w) and seems like the cover isn't in sync with the axle and is so close to the bolts threading into their respective holes, but are microscopially out of reach. The main problem I fixed was to replace the axle itself, so I broke it back down to where the stator is placed or could be adjusted. A few taps here and some there after some thought I believed I had made enough room for the screws to catch the thread and all would fall into place. Instead I had to fight to get the screws started and once I got them all them tightened down I was waiting for that pop and things to be alright when I heard a much more sharp sounding TING and one of the screw holes now had a gap in it as it broke the cover. Not only that but my axle was as tight as it could be when I tried to spin it either way. So I backed off as I am sure that was not going to fix it. Now I wrote this here in hopes someone knows what is going on or what I am forgetting, not knowing or overlooking. Note: I did replace every bearing in this motor with the exact same sized one, but all the parts are original to this motor......except the axle, but it's a match 15mm with dropouts...
