I have had my BBSHD@52V for 6 month now and it ran flawless for 500km - now it suddenly stopped working.

My fully charged battery is shown as empty in the display even though the voltage read out somehow is close to reality.
Nothing is working - No power in PAS or throttle - motor is doing nothing
Does somebody have a hint what the issue might be? Maybe display or controller issue?

It's always a good idea to switch the battery off, disconnect every Bafang Higo connector, then reconnect. Switch the battery back on and give it a go.

Not saying this is your problem, but it can eliminate some problems. Has it ever thrown up an error code?

Tried all that - no error codes.

Still no sign of life from the motor.

There's a capacitor in the display, which might keep the display powered when disconnected. This is only a long-shot, but worth a try. Disconnect the battery. Press the display's power button, which should make it flash on for a very short time until the capacitor is empty. Wait a few seconds and reconnect.

What battery voltage is set in the display? Did you use UBE? if so, try 48v.

It ran for a few seconds and then the display froze - see picture. After restarting I had the same empty battrry shown and no sign of life of the motor.
After that I tried turning on with no battery connected to empty the capacitors. No luck
Also changing voltage had no effect.

Btw. No brake switch connected.

Thanks for your help.

Do you guys think it is an issue with the controller or with the display?

I run a BBSHD, but with a DPC-10 display. ( not sure that matters for this diagnostic ) BUT, I know for sure, if I unplug my display, my throttle still works. I guess if yours behaves the same, ( no reason the BBSHD shouldn't ) Then the controller is fine.

I have just received my programming cable and have been playing with programming also. Do you have a cable? If so, reset all setting to the BBSHD default. If you do not have a cable, and haven't been messing with programming, then try the throttle with display disconnected. Let us know.

I was finally able to figure out what it was.

After swapping out the display - with no luck.

I opened the controller and was greated by some water dripping out of the case. The reason was the seal that was bend - bad manufacturing.

Let's see if I get a warranty swap.

Hello, I would like to ask if the change of control helped?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, it fixed the issue.
Btw the Bbshd is still tunning - several free wheels, bearings an d 1 nylon gear and pinion later…
