Saw this insulated lunchbag at Staples ( $ 14.00). It fits my 4 Fatpacks and stores in pannier. This should help keep battery heat in and cold out. Since it has a handle and shoulder strap it makes removing batteries very easy for extra security.

not bad idea but because i dont like running my cells loose i prefer use so foam around and then shrink them and i still use some tie rap with my lipo

That will work for a while, but eventually the weather will win out. I use insulated bags inside a duffle to transport groceries on my back, from the store to my home. They slow the process down but that's all. You will need active heating to really combat the cold indefinitely. But unless you are using SLA this is not a big deal. There are Youtube vids that show how cold affects lipo some, but not a lot. I'm used to dual lead acid batteries in a diesel. Those puppies will lose a lot in subzero temps. That bag is a good deal though, and I would buy it for the same reason. But I would also remember to set up my battery pack with enough extra amps, that cold weather would not affect my range enough to kill my plans. Still, that's a nice bag, and thanks for the info! 8)
