Longer crank arms for people with long legs. Anybody try this?

Thanks, what about aluminum wallowing out on the shaft?

Hasn't happened to me, and i have legs strong enough to tear the side covers off 2 hub motors, so i think you're fine
maybe don't stand on them since you're north of 300lbs 😅

One of my Specialized RH I got a new one free of charge because I broke the frame at the crank weld joints, I have to stay on top of keeping crank arms tight or I will destroy aluminum arms in short order. Happens regularly with me.

Maybe you ride goofy footed. Right foot forward tends to loosen the left crank bolt, left foot forward does not. Switching between the two can loosen both crank bolts.

I'm a really goofy person so could be true, crank arms come lose with me. If I ride alot I need to tighten them good every couple weeks. My body puts out like double the torque a normal person or more, in the gym on the leg extension I rep 250 with one leg with no problem. My other knee I have to watch it because I screwed it up on the CR 500.

Isn't that Zinn Cycles' business model? They build cranksets and bicycles for big guys that tend to blow out regular bicycle components.

I'm 6'1" with long legs and ride 175's off road (only). I'm already prone to strikes, so no longer (for me).

Yaa it is but I like rice eating cheap. His stuff is pricey. I bought some 180 mm cranks and was amazed at how they felt but to cheap to pay for 200 plus.

This won't affect your motor's speeds really. Crank length is more about the human to bike aspect.
I don't know what motor you have. Do you have a build thread?
It's just a bike I bought from Walmart class 3, it goes 28 tops but I have to peddle real fast. I am thinking if I change ring gear from 42 to 48 or 52 I can get it to where it cruises at 28 and goes 30 when I push hard. Longer cranks may help cruising over a long distance. The motor is supposed to be 1200 watt peak.

Sure, but replacing cranks every two months has to be more expensive than just buying one designed for the forces you are subjecting it to.

Over here, i get a lot of used bike parts from a place that calls itself 'the bike collective' ( basically a communist bike store operating in a capitalist space )

or ebay... that's where i got my 180mm shimanos.. :)

I am looking at some 180 Shimano's right now on Ebay, they are vintage with 3 rings and a 52 T. Those are really good quality? By the way it is looking pretty sure like the commies have won.
