My Bafang DPC245 display suddenly went blank right after a ride. Connection was fine, tried connecting it to the Besst tool, but it didn’t respond. Having no other way to test it, I took the risk and cracked it open. To my surprise, it came back to life when a 5V supply was fed directly to the board. Incidentally, I noticed that the input supply from the Besst tool initially feed 5V for a few milliseconds before dropping straight to 3V. Is there a possibility a transistor might be failing to pick up the 5V signal at the start or something else?! I’d appreciate any input on how to troubleshoot and identifying the root cause. Thanks.

I managed to pinpoint the root cause of the failure. There was a faulty ferrite bead which was positioned on the front (connected to 38VDC input line)and in series with a resettable fuse. Ferrite bead took the blow before fuse could react. I resolved it by shorting the bead and boom it's back online!!
