stationary application throttle fardriver

hello,
can I use a 5K Carbon Film Potentiometer as a throttle?
because it is for a stationary application. or is there a better solution?

I havent tried it, but I cant see why it shouldent work. You might have to play a little with resistors to limit the max voltage and maybe to get up the min voltage. With the pot you will probably get 0-5v, but the controller probably want 0,3-4,2 or something like that. But it is programmable, so you might be able to just set it up in the program.
