has anyone info about utah trikes new ecospeed electric drive for kmx tadpole trikes? looks like a quality product from the pictures.anyone have expeirence with ecospeed products?

I will probably get flack for saying this because I am in direct competition with them, but they are extremely high priced for what you get. They seem to work well, but are low power, medium quality, with a high price tag. I do not know of any specific problems with the system, however.

Sylvis Halpern (on Myrtle the Turtle) has an Ecospeed system on her GreenSpeed trike. About a year and a half ago she rode from Portland, Oregon to Los Angles, California. Then last spring she continued East to Texas, up to Kentucky (I think) and meandered back to Kansas until a failure in the IGH terminated the ride. She was planning to terminate at the time anyway because she wanted to be back in Portland for something.

Anyway, she has never been very active on this forum, but her blogs are quite interesting:

There were two Velomobiles on the Roll Over America tour http://rolloveramerica.eu equipped with Ecospeed units. Both of them broke down in Montana. Something to do with bad bearings. Both of them were repaired in Billings MT and finished the tour without any serious problems. Patrick was nearly always last into camp at the end of the day. Taylor (Velocity Velos) had to do some late nite tinkering but was usually in about the middle of the group getting in to camp at the end of the day.

I priced out a KMX Cobra with ECO Speed and when you added in the batteries and charger is was more than a Transition 311. Less gear, more money. Couldn't justify it, so am going with FFR.

Figured i'd put this out there..

I showed up in person a month ago to their showroom, and walked into the store and nobody greeted me. I was with my lady and obviously giving out the 'hey, i'm a customer, help me out' look. Had to interrupt 2 people talking to each other to get someone to talk to me. The salesman i was directed to was kind of a sleaze bag, and bordered on mocking some of my questions. The owner seemed kinda cool but i never got to talk to him much.

I think they are very knowledgeable about their products going off my encounter, but i cast doubt on how this business operates otherwise. I think an attitude adjustment could help.

Ooops! Gotta get those thoughts to the fingers.

With nearly a decade of experience working with and for resellers, I've seen the best and the worst firsthand.

I'm having an incredibly fun time with their excellent customer service. I opted for them to install upgrades and they have offered b
great advice and know their products. I find no negatives that dissuade. I will follow up here.
