What's your favorite 72V 8Kw controller?

I'm redoing of friends China emoto bicycle and it has a Sabvoton controller and display that are dying. I've done lots of Vesc systems, up to a 20s cyclone 3kw system and I love it, but I need this to be dumbed down for my friend. I'm unimpressed by Sabvoton, it's gigantic for what it does, and I want to go a different route. What would you guys recommend that is simple for the end user and has selectable power stages and a dedicated display, not a Bluetooth phone system like the vesc. The Fardriver ND74250 system has caught my eye for its price point and compactness, but I have no knowledge of the reliability or programmability of this setup.
Thank you guys!

Edit: I would like to stay under $600 for the controller and display.

Why does your friend care about how big the controller is?

I’d go with something like a Votol EM150 and a cycle analyst. If a 3 speed switch isn’t enough for power levels, the CA can be set up for whatever he needs, digital buttons or even a potentiometer with a knob for infinity variability.

The votol Software is even more tricky than the fardrivers.

I have installed a ND7450 and ND72680 both without any issues and it took me less than 15 minutes to have the ride like i wanted it to be. The ND72680 was nearly maxed out at the end and it did a very good job, only downside was, i had to reduce max phase current by 10% to not get phase current errors.

Then I changed to a ND721800, it took me 3 weeks to get it running. Main problem was and still is software. My 721800 is an older version and has the old BLE Module. I have problems changing and saving all the parameters that I need.
Actually it is not even possible to change any Parameter, with the last App Updates, they closed the door to my old controller.
I have already driven 4500km with the ND721800 and everytime i give it a full throttle it makes me smile.

He doesn't really care, I just know that quality controllers don't need that much space. Thank you for the input I will definitely check out the Votol.
