Question on extending phase wires for a 72v 3000w hub motor with a 70amp controller - needing to add 7 inches to the run to the junction block and original wire is 10awg and about 30 silver strands. Looking for wire I'm finding there's quite a few variations with regards to the stiffness, strand numbers, and insulation. Wire available for the extended section I have is :

1) 8awg 19 strand copper
2) 10awg 50 strand copper audio wire (with very soft outer insulation)
3) 10awg 7 strand copper

Whats the best option out of these?

#10 Gauge THHN Copper Stranded Wire is the most popular single conductor copper wire and RATED FOR 30 AMPS comes in several colors
#8 Gauge THHN Copper Stranded Wire is the most popular single conductor copper wire and is RATED FOR 55 AMPS @ 90°C both have thermal shells house rated

70A? 8 gauge would be ideal but you'll make it with 10 gauge if you cut right outside the axle and replace the rest of the strand with it.
