That's how big business works in America!

Yup... we now have an EV lobby, lol

The Inflation Reduction Act
GONE?
ISN'T IT?
I'm confused why am I still paying twenty five percent more than I did four years ago; Neverland?

I'm not sure if i've said this before, but..

Imagine how much better Elon would be doing if he kept his mouth shut about politics and kept himself known for engineering and business prowess instead of openly locking arms with the political opposition of his primary consumer base and getting his hands bloody for his own potential gain.

But that's how the system works here in the USA, basically all politicians are for sale and can basically legislate your business position into law if you have the cash.

The EV industry has officially grown up and became like any other industry! 😅

I like him from a business/engineering perpsective. He's done many things nobody else was able to do, and do them well.

Electric cars were a joke until he started building them.

Musk didnt start building EVs,….. he bought into Tesla after most of the technology was proven.
Musk is no Engineer, he is a marketing risk taker, with an ability to convince others to follow his lead.

He knows enough about engineering that he can assemble a team of world class people who can make some amazing things happen and also turn it into a business model in a case where nobody else could.

More of an Edison than a Tesla himself.

We have him to thank for putting his neck out for the EV cause and help push advance state of the art in lithium batteries.

As for politics, opinions are like a**h*les, everyone's got one; take the good and leave the bad, lol.

I think the only thing holding back EVs is their battery technology, not whatever happens in the dirty world we call politics.

Like everything else, successful adoption boils down to economics and technology more than anything else.
That's where the rubber meets the road. And it's always been like that, all ideology and posturing aside.

We still need batteries that don't spontaneously combust, higher energy density, lower cost, and lower weight. You're standing at the 'this thing is not going anywhere' part of the S-Curve.

Politics for better or worse won't move it.

Tesla will do better than their peers regardless of whether conservatives or liberals are in office.

There will be a flourishing of EV adoption in the next 5-10 years regardless of what policies government set or who is in charge. The reason will be solid state batteries & friends.

'ok, maybe it's not hopeless' is coming right up

Any one of those things in sufficient measure would do it. I vote no-combust and lower cost (reflecting lack of rare elements).

“Opinions…everybody has one “ !
…from my view point, we are actually standing at the “ whats suddeny going wrong”. point !
It is going to need that better, cheaper, safer, etc battery tech to keep the EV ball rolling.

'what's suddenly going wrong' happens at ~80% of saturation.

Yeah, more range. But a charging network that functions like a gas station would do the trick, and get universal acceptance from the general public.
