Just wanted to break this out of the funding thread to keep the discussion clean; you will get updates about our knowledgebase's status here.
Current status: Hacking on a way to insert the software inside Xenoforo so that the login state, and header/footer of the website is rendered around it, and the fit is seamless.
The technique we chose to stuff a framework inside another framework seems to have worked & the hard part is done!
Design drawings and instructions are all done and the ES version is headed to the code factory
Rev2, we'll call it v1.26. It takes some design elements from Xenforo so it feels more familiar.
One thing that i particularly dislike about the design now is the header / sub header split and the gap. it doesn't fit with an ever deepening move towards a minimalist and content focused design.
It's possible to squish the two headers together and eliminate the gap without a ton of coding work. The vertical space gain is pretty nice and it just looks less busy.
Going a step further we can collapse the horizontal space in the content and use it for wider content or wider navbar
This more minimalist look won't be in the final release but will eventually trickle down from the efforts to build v1.5 once we're done with the ES version of this software.
FYI..
Project is approx 50% done. My best guess is we're 1.5 months out.
Too messy to post screenshots right now, but parts of major features are implemented. Seeing the rating system working, even with the placeholder art, made me giddy today.
Will provide a more detailed update in a few weeks!
