Hi Guys.

I have developed a large volume battery case that fits into the frame triangle of hard tail bikes.
EVLAB-Fame-Case.jpg
The internal dimensions are 225mm Long, 110mmwide and 150mm high plus space at the front for BMS and other wiring.
There is a bit of tolerance for padding on those dimensions.
The case is made from aluminum.

It fits Ping 24v20ah, 36v15ah and 48v10ah.
EM3ev, Cellman can make a 14s9p pack, 50v18.5ah to fit if you ask him real nice.
You might get 6 6s5000mah Zippys in there also but I have not tried.

There is a panel mount port and studs to fit an XLR charge port. There is a ignition key hole for Xlyte keys (I can supply).

The case clamps on to the down tube of the bike and locates to the seat post so it can not rotate out.

The case is solid.

Cut a rectangle from cardboard 160mm high and 260mm long. If this fits in your frame triangle the case will fit.

Will do runs of 20 at a time. Can do custom colours at an additional cost. Otherwise they will be available in black or silver.

Prices: Includes Paypal and 3-6 day Air express, not tracked.

In New Zealand $145NZD
To Austraila $135USD
To USA $155USD
To Europe and anywhere else $165USD

I like it. Prettier than what I use old metal tool boxes.

Can this battery case fitting 16 bricks of the 4s hardcase (16S4P) with all spiders wirings?

That is a very nice product, and the right size too. You can fit my assembled LiPo packs in there! You could comfortably fit up to a 16s3p LiPo pack in there using the 40C cells, or 14s3p using either the 25C 5800 mAh cells or the 5000 mAh 20C cells. The latter being perfect for a 58.4 V lithium end-of-charge pack.

Lovely product compared to my ham-fisted efforts using acrylic plastic :D. Is the inside enamelled too, or would you still need to protect your cells with a layer of non-conducting foam and G10-FR4 or similar?

Well done!

(Edited for clarity)

External, width is 114mm, which gives plenty of crank clearance. The case does not interfere with your riding.
Height is 157mm, box part, max length is 300mm.
The clamp plate fits every bike in my shop and the new Yuba Mundos.

No, it wont fit the A123 prismatic pack.
However, it will fit a 10s 10p Samsung 4C pack. Thats 36v 22ah with a 40amp cont, 100amp peak BMS
Also dont for get the 14s 9p pack for 50v 19.8ah 4C pack 40amp cont, 100amp peak BMS
Or perhaps a 16s 7p for 60v15ah...
I will talk with Cell Man about a couple of options for this case.

This is such a cool idea Kiwi, and as usual awesome design.

Any newcomers to the forum thinking of getting one of these should not hesitate. Kiwi builds and designs some of the coolest stuff in ebikes. I have literally bought nearly every product he has designed and sold on ES, torque arms, forklift and DH Comp dropouts and have loved all of them.

Don't make presumptions about him on the basis of him being a New Zealander, apart from that being racialist, the guy is a genius and makes seriously top quality gear. You would never pick him as a Kiwi, deadset

I am :(
I have that battery pack and am still trying to get it to fit into the triangle with something easy for me to install.

I have mates with the Cellman A123 packs (which have MDF board on the outer, and are then shrinkwrapped) and they just get good quality PVC Duct tape, and tape that bad boy into their triangle (they use a decent amount of tape), it is very strong, and doesn't even look that ghetto.

My personal view with ebikes, is that the world has its place for the Recumpence/Kiwi/Kim/Dogatti/Sparky/Toolman2/Thud etc. types with their custom machined parts, but for the rest of us mortals we are too fast to poo poo the brilliance of duct tape and zip ties. Most of my builds are based on those two pillars (and hot glue).

Thanks for the idea, Philistine. I appreciate a ghetto setup as much as the next person. However, I do need a quick method of removing my battery pack for charging off the bike.

Prices Updated in first post.

That is beautiful, Kiwi. I wish I could use it on my trike.

..don't know about beautiful, but very functional and robust and pain free battery mounting. Should have done it years ago.

Hey kiwi,
Will your case fit a yuba mundo with the stokemonkey set up (crank on the left side as well)?

Here is the case in a Yuba, as long as the stoke monkey is behind the seat tube, everything should be fine.

Do you have more precise dimensions than 260mm x 160mm? Like all the side profile measurements?

Hey Kiwi,
I'm interested in one, but the height has me a little concerned. Can you give me an absolute maximum internal height dimension? I'm using the 40C LiPo cells which are a bit on the tall side. At a pinch I can fit the pack without the acrylic box, but I would rather have some stiff plastic there.
Cheers,
Chris

152mm, you could file the cover holes and get about 3 more mm, but then there would be a small gap.
