"Modern" controller plug

A local craigslist ad for rear motors says two wheels have a "modern connector plug", but another one just has a "second generation plug configuration but not the latest type". Heh, does anyone have a guess to what they might mean? I only have 9C controllers with the rectangular plugs and not round plugs that I can sort of make out in the photo ...

Rather than cutting off the motor wires, I'm wondering if I can buy a female end to wire up to my 9C controllers.

I looked on Amazon, and I found a kit that had a good picture of its plug. Does anyone know the name of this plug or where I can buy it?

Hard to find the plug by itself. You can buy it as part of a cable set. I would call it a 9 pin Julet connector. What comes out of most motors is the male plug. Splice in the female part to your controller. A good quick connect, but I've never run more than 25A (momentary) thru them though.

Looks like a HiGo 9 pin connector (Z910). The more modern version that Grin switched over to, is the HiGo L10:

Most of us are not using the usual plugs or connectors that are supplied with ebike kits. We cut the wires and use better/bigger connectors, even better wires sometimes. That is because those Chinese ebike kits are made very cheap, and many of us are seeking better performance/reliability.

Are higo and julet the same thing? I don't plan on replacing wires coming out of the motor. I more or less need an extension cable to extend from the craigslist motor to a controller. I have a 22A 9C controller now, but perhaps I need one that can handle more amps?

No Higo is not Julet, I've heard latter more robust.

Too many "standards", just decide on your own and buy the crimpers.

For waterproof, AMP/TE Deutsch is excellent.

So it's not the same as these?

The wrong one is the one I posted. It has the larger pins in the middle.

I think those ebay ones look right, however, I opted for one on Amazon that already has connectors on the other side.
