Sbyke

Is there *any* advantage to two tiny wheels in the back vs one small wheel? From the images in the last few secs of the vid *maybe* it'll stand alone w/no kick stand needed, watt would be a plus, but deck is too short for a passenger, so no cuddling in motion, and as always where do ya put the groceries (beer etc.) I say FAIL, electrified or not.

FAil? no way dude, i say WINNER..

yes, It does stand upright by itself.
and using the fixed front wheel / rear skate truck combo shorten the wb of the vehicle for compact storage in the trunk..

you will be surprized at ride quality of high quality longboard skatewheels, the skate truck also gives it a bit of suspension..

passenger? which micro urban transporters out there carry passengers?

groceries? basket on the handlebar.. or backpack..

smooth surfaces I say maybe, but 'wouldn't want to go much faster than walking on pavement with separations.

bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, ...

With the added aerodynamics of the skinny jeans, I bet that thing flies!

I like that people come up with new ideas everyday, but this just seemed awkward to ride, very compact and manueverable, I'll give it that.

yes, I am talking about lightweight, compact mini kick-scooter here,
for walking replacement.
not comparing to something like a diggler.
think Xootr..

to me the Xootr is a big Fail because the ride quality is just way harsh,
the sbyke would be a better ride..

a quick fold scooter with two 16" wheel would be the ideal I think,
something like a Brompton for kick scooter...

and BTW, not sure you guys know,
longboards have become very popular mode of transportation for getting around college campus.
this is the target market I am thinking of.

it looks like an interesting ride. not sure if it would actually be the best thing in the urban environment. my recent attempt at making an urban mini, compact e-scooter didnt turn out great. well, the build turned out to fantastic, but the ride quality through the city was horrible. lets just say 6 inch hard tires and potholes dont mix.

Anyone seen one of these? I'm thinking of E-lectrifying one for my 5 year old son for christmas.

it's compact, but i dont like the idea of only rear steering,

That's a 16" wheel, not 20". Now how do I already know the hub. . .Well, since I haven't worked with THAT bikeboard I don't know, but there's a good chance this one will do. http://leafbike.com/products/e-bike-hub-motor/bldc-12-14-16-18-inch-electric-motor/16-inch-36v-250w-front-hub-motor-wheel-974.html Or a whole kit http://leafbike.com/products/diy-bike-conversion-kit/16-inch-electric-hub-motor-kit/16-inch-36v-250w-front-hub-motor-electric-bike-kit-972.html
