    Charger cutoff current

Hi all, I have a charger for my 13S battery which is not cutting the voltage when it reaches the low current at the end of the charge. It just have green LED which turns on when the current is about 150 mA. But it never cut the voltage. My BMS is like this one...

    MeanWell Mods - S-150-48 +Mega-Mod

I have MW LRS-150-48. Anyone knows if the current can be tweaked on this one? Now if I short circuit it - the current goes up to about 10A for very short time, then it shut completely, then after 1 sec it try again and so on. Without current limit is cannot be used directly. I can adjust the...

New 2017 updates to ebikes.ca motor simulator to try out

I am trying to make a simple phase amp measurement with arduino or similar and was looking into the current of pne phase with a hall sensor connected to the osciloscope. I see in the ebike simulator the formula is Imotor=Ibatt/D, where D is PWM duty cycle and this is simplified for square wave...

Phase current measurement with a hall sensor

I want to make a simple arduino based measurement of the phase current flowing to the motor but have some theoretical question. I am looking into this diagram of currents in the 3 phase bldc motor: This shows that the so called "phase current" always flows over two phases either forward or...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

How did you measured this currents? By connecting the probe to the current sensor output I guess? And it was a bench test without load on the wheel - you just spinning unloaded? There is only one current sensor on one phase but on the Y 3phase connection in order to measure the current you need...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

Thanks. I expected it around 50-60A max. The torque on my Bafang motor is rated at 32Nm. With 80A it will be double so pretty easy to strip the gears... Do you know any way to control the phase current with KT firmware - there is option for the current (C3 as far as I remember) which can be...

Simple "temperature cutoff" for hub motor with thermostat

No problem closing it, just found a place on the windings where it it stays as much lower as possible, also a bit angled. Put the shell without gluing it to verify and opened again to glue it. This switch is relatively thick - like 6mm, but I couldn't find anything smaller.

Simple "temperature cutoff" for hub motor with thermostat

It does not cut anything, I just know that the windings are at 90 degrees and it's getting hot. It's real data, not like touching the outer casing with fingers. :) For the temperature selection I read a lot and I think you should not go much more than 90 degC for a geared motor if you want...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

Hello everyone. I have 9FET KT controller (22A/48V) with the original firmware from KT and I am trying to figure out how much phase current it can supply. I need that in order to calculate the torque of my motor as I am overvolting it. I see on the board there is some shunt on one of the phases...

2018 Torque Arm Tests, Splined Interface Design and Tabbed Washers

What is the power of your front setup? Of course having two torque arms is the best in all cases, but I have to create custom arms as the disc side is pretty tricky - there are only like 3mm between the hub a the fork (I need to measure it). Also finding proper shop to machine it for me might be...

    Charging voltage cutoff device

Actually I have Meanwell 150W power supply which I can mod for lower voltage/current. However still I need some schematic to cut the charging at the end otherwise I have to monitor the current and turn it off at some point. That's why was thinking about a device which can do all this by...

Simple "temperature cutoff" for hub motor with thermostat

I installed very basic and simple "somewhat" temperature control. I initially wanted to have a thermistor but on this motor is difficult to install extra wire and I didn't wanted to reuse the speedo hall cable since I want to have the speed all the time. Then I come to the idea to use the...

    Charging voltage cutoff device

Hello everyone, I've been looking for a simple device to add in series to my existing charger and limit cutoff voltage from 4.2V/cell to 4.1 or less and also keep it on storage voltage level when not using it. Are there any such devices? I consider it fairly simple (if you just only regulate...

2018 Torque Arm Tests, Splined Interface Design and Tabbed Washers

You are right, I am exaggerating here. This motor is rated at 32 Nm, but since I do not know what phase current this controller provides theoretically it can go beyond the 32Nm. Of course the gears can strip before that, I don't know... I moved to 48V since I needed speed on flats and instead of...

2018 Torque Arm Tests, Splined Interface Design and Tabbed Washers

Hello everyone, I am building my first ebike and need advise for the torque arm. It's with Bafang G01 front motor (with the anti rotation tabbed washer) which I will run on 48/22A Chinese controller with "who knows how much" phase amp but to be in the safe side let's assume it can produce up to...
