BBSHD 29er or 26 or 27.5 FS Mountain / Off Road Opinions Needed

A good choice these days for a BBS-equipped full suspension bike might be a Zumbi F11 (available as a 29er or 27.5) which has a straight downtube and space for a battery pack. A straight downtube is important because it keeps the motor from hanging too low. https://zumbicycles.com/f11/

BBSHD 29er or 26 or 27.5 FS Mountain / Off Road Opinions Needed

The top of the battery case was softened with a heat gun and a 'channel' was formed to provide clearance for the shock.

BBSHD 29er or 26 or 27.5 FS Mountain / Off Road Opinions Needed

Hi, I'm in Roswell so I ride Big Creek, Blankets Creek, Old Rope Mill, etc. on my 2016 Cove Hustler 27.5 (150mm travel front/rear) equipped with a BBS02 and a 14s4p 14ah shark pack on the downtube. Honestly, I'd still be on a 26er if it wasn't a "dead-end" tire size lol! 27.5 or 29er is...

DIY Fix for BBS02/BBSHD Pedal/Throttle Issue

On the bikes I have with BBS02B controllers, I noticed the funky PAS/throttle interaction as described on this thread. Maybe it's just me (or my bikes) but I reduced the Keep Current % on the PAS page from my normal 100% to MAX 90% and now the PAS and throttle work together great.

What is now the best and easy option for full suspension EMTB?

Hi and welcome, Clearly you've put some research and thought into your questions so thanks for that. With regard to the systems you mention, I have experience with both the Bafang BBS and the Tongsheng TSDZ2 systems - none with the Cyclone or GNG. As a practical matter, if you want to build an...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The 32t and 104 bcd adapter pictured are on the BBS. I did purchase a 104 bcd adapter for the TSDZ2 from ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Risun-104BCD-Chainring-Spider-Adaptor-Gearing-TONGSHENG-TSDZ2-Mid-Drive-Motor-/162517655519?hash=item25d6ce9fdf:g:iGYAAOSwK6RZGqr5) but have not installed it...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The Sunrace CSM680 11-40t 8 speed cassette is a great option for ebikes. I recently installed one on my BBS02-equipped mountain bike (picture below). It's all steel and has individual cogs (not grouped together on spiders) that facilitate building a "FrankenCassette". As an aside, the TSDZ2...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

In trial fitting, the stock chainring works fine with my 12 speed mountain bike, so your 9 and 10 speed bikes should be good to go.

    Motobecane (now Surly) with BBS02

Thanks Wineboyrider! I'd say the main difference in speed (on pavement) is due to the slower knobby tires of the Motobecane. If anything, I think the Surly is heavier! Also, building a cable and programming the controller probably helped as well. In the month since moving the kit to the...

    Motobecane (now Surly) with BBS02

skyungjae, I measured my bike several times because I was going to use one of those battery boxes initially. It looked to be a very close fit (if at all) and I wasn't prepared to buy the box unless I was sure. If you're handy enough, anything will fit! :D

    Motobecane (now Surly) with BBS02

Hi, Yes, that battery case will fit the Surly frame but not my Motobecane. Problem for me is that case only holds 52 cells and my pack has 84 (14S6P).

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Sugino XD cranks are pretty strong. You can buy the left one from lots of places, like Amazon . The right one comes from Sugino's tandem crankset. This saves having to muck around with pedal threads.

    Programming the Bafang Middrive BBS01+BBS02

It is true. Google "derailleur shifting under load" for hundreds of references or read just this one from St. Sheldon: "The rear derailer can usually shift under full load, but it is better for the chain to ease up a bit during the shift." I certainly agree that "easing up" is "better for the...

    Programming the Bafang Middrive BBS01+BBS02

I was playing around with the throttle settings this morning. I found that by simply changing the throttle "Mode:" from "Speed" to "Current", ALL throttle lag was eliminated. In every PAS level, applying the throttle gave instantaneous response whether pedaling, coasting, or stopped. I also...

BBS02 in French frame or Peugeot suicide.

The BBS kit doesn't care what pitch the thread of the BB shell is (French or otherwise) since it doesn't use the threads to mount the motor/crank assembly. From this page on Sheldon's site, it looks like your U08 is good to go with a 68mm BB shell.
