Thanks guys. Some good ideas to think about. Definitely going to work in a charger and see how that will go.
Busing to this new place takes minimum 45 minutes. Google maps said if I bike, I can make it by 30 minutes. Hurray for ebike!
Sorry for not enough information.
It is a hill but isn't that bad. The overall elevation is something like 40 meters for the entire one way trip. Weight is nearly 300 lbs.
From the reply above with 2miles per AH. It seems I will make it using 6.9AH as long as I pedal with the motor.
Thanks all!
Hi guys,
Can I get some help calculating my maximum range? I don't have those fancy measurement tools.

My commuting distance just changed. It is now 9.1KM each way. Do you think I...
I saw you mentioning that your MAC 500W burned up because you put too much KW into it. Would it make sense then to advise purchasers to grab the MAC 1000W for future-proofing?
The price different is only $17 too!
I think something happened to Cell_man while he was on vacation. The site still...
Why not sell your car and your ebikes and grab a pure electric car from Tesla Motors?
160 miles range standard. Can be upgraded to 230 miles or even 300 miles.
A question about the icecube solution.
Whats the different between the normal _series_ charge that one do with those Hyperion charger and the _parallel_ charging solution that icecube provide?
Is one safer than the other?
Does the parallel balance it better or something?
Do you guys think then that the future of ebike hubs will be obtaining faster speed with lower voltages? Sorta of like the opposite of 5403 where the focus was on being able to soak up massive amount of KW?
Is that even physically possible?
You can mixed batteries like that? That is neat!
Do you need to open up the A123 still? Or is it like a dongle that you use to connect the Lipo and A123?
I'm afraid to open up the perfect black shrink wrapped they are in. Is it hard to _series_ them? I don't have any welding experience.
Worst part is I'm in Canada! It seems all the good merchants/tweakers are in US. That mean I can't just asked someone to series them for me.
Just trying to save the cost of a new battery.
A123 cells suppose to last for years and years! Just caused I want faster speed doesn't mean I should just dump them right?
Hm, I should have mentioned no peddling.
mvly, you were able to hit near 60KPH on the BMC V3 or is that another motor?
Cell_man Mac 1000W is basically a BMC V3 clone right?

Hi guys,
Is it possible for a hub motor to propel one to 60 KPH on flat with only a 36V battery (A123)? If so, can you guys please point me to the name of the hub and the controller require?
Thanks!
