    Future Motion - OneWheel

Onewheel is insanely fun. I barely ride my e skateboard anymore.

    OneWheel: self-balancing e-skate

Onewheel seems to have huge following. Selling upward $1700 on eBay. Wonder how it would be if it's controlled via remote like a skateboard rather than self-balancing. Shouldn't be hard to do.

    Evolve Snubnose custom battery (17Ah)

Wow! Pretty impressive work. How do you like Evolve? Haven't read much about it here. Seems like Boosted is the king of the hill.

I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on the Evolve AT. Glad I didn't. The X looks fantastic. I heard the speed is increased few more miles. The Ego 2 looks like they added couple more cells for increased range but the speed may be the same.

It really depends on what your comfortable speed is. With 10s, my top speed is 18+ but my cruising speed is 15mph. As mentioned early, you may outgrow the 8s soon. It's good to have that extra speed when you need it. That 8s battery you posted comes with a charger. If you order a one shot 8s...

8s setup isn't bad at all. I'd go with 2 of these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9933__ZIPPY_Flightmax_5800mAh_4S1P_30C.html You can find good cheap chargers as well.

I had 2 of these sitting around that I used on my RC heli. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9503__Turnigy_3300mAh_6S_30C_Lipo_Pack.html I just ordered these to connect in series for 10s. https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=58948 If I'm ordering from...

10S seems to be the sweet spot. 8s was better. 9s was more better. Then I tried 12s. Insane speed but esc got warm and I wasn't sure I'd want to risk it nor I need that speed. Been using 10s 6600 mah 35C and that's more than I can ask for. I did 7.5 miles and had 3.85v left per cell. My...

I think Metroboard slim pack is equivalent to 8s.

If you're gonna use Hobby King lipo packs, it's better to have them removable and balance charged . Like the 3 X 3s I'm getting will be used in series but balance charged in parallel and stored carefully when not in use.

Yep, and you keep the board lightweight. ;) Just came back from a run to the park and my packs are stll at 3.95v per cell. Wonder if regenerative braking still works. I noticed an extra wire on the stock battery.

For now, this is how I'm getting by.. It's amazing how much power these little batteries produce. I tell you, having swappable packs isn't a bad idea.

I've got 3 X 6s 3300 mah sitting there. Trying to convince my geek friend to turn them into bunch of 3s so I can combine into series and parallel. Not sure he'll do it..

I ran 2 X 4s 2850 mah 45C that I used on my RC heli. I did not notice anything unusual and esc/motor were fine. The speed/torque was way better than stock. My guess is with a 9s setup, it'll be fine. I ordered 3 X 3s 5000 mah 20C.

Jake, you cracked open one hell of a code. Just tried mine on 8s and love it. Bet 9s would be a good all around set-up. Kudos man.. ;)
