    Aussie 200 Watt Limit Thread

25km limit is just dumb, I'm not the best cyclist out there but I can do 25km on my dual suspension MTB, and easily break 35km on a roady. As for 200W limit, I've never riden a 200W before, but 500W is a lot more reasonable! Fastest I got (before running out of gears) was 55km per hour, and...

    2006 Giant Trance - Electric

I bought my 650W kit from extreme cybershop in Perth, it took about a week. Cost a bit more to buy than direct from Taiwan, but I have the piece of mind that I can speak to someone in Australia to get help and its still cheaper than most other places.

    2006 Giant Trance - Electric

I've just upgraded my 500w to 650w (cos I could, no probs with the 500w). The issue I found with the upgrade was finding a place to mount the motor controller, as the 500w had one built it. The weight of the 650w didn't seem any different from the 500w in my hands, didn't weigh them to compare...

Cyclone 500W 3 pcs chainwheel kit questions

The high pitched squeal is the battery full/battery low alarm. It normally keeps going after you take it off charge while the voltage goes down to an acceptable level. I just opened up the battery pack and removed the buzzer from the BMS.

Cyclone 500W 3 pcs chainwheel kit questions

a.) EXCELLENT for hill climbs, because u can u your bikes gears. You output about 200W, 500W is plenty of power to get u up the hills with gears. I can go up hills in 4-5th gear doing 30-25km/h , slowest I've climbed a hill was 15km/h and in 2nd gear, hill was steep as. b) I find that with...

    iPhone app for Cycle Analyst

I'm going to try to do this via WiFi, with a webservice that outputs XML, which I can write an iPhone app that reads the XML and displays and records the data.

Apple are being dickheads. After providing info to apple and waiting around for a month, I email them to find out what's happening, they now tell me they need my lawyer's details. WTF? To get access to the bluetooth serial port API.

    iPhone app for Cycle Analyst

I spoke to Apple a few weeks ago, they wanted a whole pile of details to get on the made of ipod program, still haven't heard back from them yet, will follow up soon. Its crap how I can't use the API without being on the program.

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

Well so far my cyclone cranks are working out fine, but like I said in my previous post, I like the look of the elation cranks and chainring and if they are supposedly better than the cyclone cranks, I'd probably buy them they are become available. To me it doesn't make sense not to sell parts...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

I've got a Cyclone kit (only because when I emailed elation it was recommended that it wouldn't be good for a dual suspension setup). When I emailed Cyclone they said no problems. During my initial research, the pictures of the Cyclone kit had a spring idle wheel that looks like it keeps the...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

LoL with my 24V 25AH pack and 500W motor, I rode home (27km) without pedaling at all and only used 15AH. Pedal assist = Me assisting the motor LoL

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

I used take off in 1st while clipping in my second foot, but I found that I had hit the top speed for first gear before my foot was clipped in. These days, I take off in 2nd gear, and the bike takes off much nicer. I guess gears aren't as important for electric motors as they are for engines...

    2006 Giant Trance - Electric

The 3 chainwheel kit is what you want, they actually mean 3 chain ring which is the cogs the pedal connects to. The reason why you need to replace your current chainrings is their one and elations ones have a freewheel that allows the motor spin the chainrings and your pedals not to have to...

    2006 Giant Trance - Electric

The motor and throttle from the cyclone 3 chainring and elation kits are exactly the same. Not that I've seen the elation kit in real life, but as a Cyclone owner, I think from the pictures the elation kit has 4 chainrings and the Cyclone has 3. However, I've taken the front derailuer off my...

    2006 Giant Trance - Electric

Yeah the tubing is kinda triangle, but it doesn't matter, the clamps do a good job, and the grub screws also keep the mount firm. I used old bike tubes around the frame to protect the frame from damage by the mount, a positive side effect is that the rubber tube also allows the mount to grip...

Rebuilt my ebike setup today. Put a kick stand on my bike as its not doing any XC MTBing its safe to have a kick stand on it now Here's my Cycle Analyst and Garmin 305. When I bought the CA, it came with a very short lead for sensing the battery and controller, ebike.ca sent me out a full...

LifePo4 Battery Packs for the Average Guy

Ok, I rode home today 26km without pedaling at all (yes that was lazy). I had a full charge on the 24V 25Ah Lau Chan battery. Overall I was happy with the performance. There were a couple of little things where the Lau Chan battery did not perform as well as the 24V 10Ah Cyclone battery pack...

    Paralleling batteries of different Ah?

I've found that connecting a full charged battery to my bike there is a small arc on the terminals. But when I used the capacitor, no arcing.

LifePo4 Battery Packs for the Average Guy

I rode to work today with the Lau Chan battery 25Ah 24V battery Pedal+Motor for 17km, motor only for the last 7km. Used 10Ah all up, that's 3.5Ah more than last week where I pedal+motor all the way with a Cycline 10Ah 24V pacl. I've noticed a few people claimed that Lau Chan batteries might...

LifePo4 Battery Packs for the Average Guy

I received my 24V 25AH LiFePO4 pack from Emma / Lau Chan today. It had a "LiFePO4.hk" label on the side. I haven't yet fully tested it, however I did connect it to my bike on a bike stand and ran bike for about 10 mins. I applied the brakes a few times to put some load. Cycle Analyst...

    iPhone app for Cycle Analyst

Wrong. Bluetooth A2DP (Stereo bluetooth) has been available since iPhone OS3.0 Bluetooth Serial Port Protocol is available in the SDK only if you are on the MFI program, which apple are making me jump through hoops for. They are asking me questions like who's going to...

The bluetooth serial option seems to be the best option from an implementation point of view, but you should see the number of hoops and questions I'm getting from Apple to just the Made for iPod program.

    Paralleling batteries of different Ah?

No I haven't disconnected the capacitor off the extension cable, and I don't intend on putting it onto my new cable unless its actually necessary. I am guessing that the capacitor is possibly for reducing possible surge on connecting the batt to the controller??
