InBike URBAN, a cheap italian ebike (made in China)

I made another experiment.... a stealth battery pack.... 8) I used 2 packs of Turnigy Lipo 2.2Ah 40-50C... 1 for the forward trip and 1 to come back home... to test... They are 22.2V 6s1p packs... I did in total 21Km at an average of 20Kmh... discharging both packs to 3.73V per cell... It...

    Nissan Leaf Cells Test Data

I was answering to marcexec... He has some leakage, mine seems ok... I didn't put insulation around the barrels of those crimp terminals, since there is no chance they can be bent enough to contact the can... It seems close in the picture, but really the clearance is huge... And I use the...

Ooops, I overcharged it again ...

Forgot to report back about the HobbyKing turnigy nanotech 750mAh 1s1p cells I bought in 2014.... In less than 20 cycles and in no more than 16 months of use they all (5 exemplars) puffed... They are of no use now, but were exceptional in performance when they were new. Have fun!

    Nissan Leaf Cells Test Data

This is a picture of one of the 2 battery packs created filling Decathlon side bike packs with Nissan 2012 modules. For an e-bike that is having a range of 200km at 35kmh speed. Have fun!

    Nissan Leaf Cells Test Data

Hi! I just now tested my Leaf 2012 modules and there is a consistent reading of 20mV between any battery lead and the aluminum can... Didn't check the current involved, but it is real, since contacting 2 different parts of the module can gives exactly 0mV. In my case I suppose it is...

InBike URBAN, a cheap italian ebike (made in China)

Hi, LockH! Yes, I'm puzzled too... The battery is made of 7s5p 18650 LiMn cells. They are something around 2200mAh each to get to the advertised 11Ah total. Fancy green aquamarine color cells with no markings. I opened the pack, when I bought the new bike, and rebalanced everything...

InBike URBAN, a cheap italian ebike (made in China)

This is a picture of the 2 battery packs on the back of the bike, from outside... ...and another picture of one pack content... ...usable energy is around 1.5kWh, top up time from empty is 6-7 hours... ...projected reach per charge is between 200 and 300 Km... depending on speed and power...

InBike URBAN, a cheap italian ebike (made in China)

This is the result ... I made a custom pack, using 4x Nissan Leaf 2012 battery modules (60Ah, 8.4V each). I distributed them in 2x lateral waterproof Cases from Decathlon. I bulk charge them. But still balancing the single cells, charging them also individually, each trip. Using for...

InBike URBAN, a cheap italian ebike (made in China)

I'm back! At 4000 Km on the clock, 150 charge cycles and 4 years of use ... the battery pack is holding 60% or less of the original capacity... Since the e-bike payed fully for itself due to the gas savings, I needed to do something with it ... ...to be continued

yeah, sometime it helps  those nanotech are really top stuff. have fun!

Ooops, I overcharged it again ...

Overcharged or Turbocharged? :P I'm so happy I damaged that Lipo, otherwise I would never come to know how good those Nanotech are! They turned some flimsy performance devices in amazing fun with incredible flight time with the added bonus or having a normal temperature at the end...

MS Windows-7 screwed me, Linux/Ubuntu discussion

Do it! it is very good for general use, but if you want to stay cool and happy, select to download not the last istall version but the last extended support release. this way the automatic update will work for few years, instead of few months. You will not have the last version but at the same...

    Lyen Controller Problem!

you could energize with the controller an old scavaged floppy disk motor, just to be sure the controller is programmed correctly. That motors have a fine aligned set of halls, that is for sure. You need just to desolder the original driver chip and provide extension cables for halls and phases...

This motor looks crazy powerfull.. and i got one..

ah, cool, so in the end it worked out, even at 100 volts :!: I see an enormous multiplication of transport means being electrified  that is great :!: have fun!

This motor looks crazy powerfull.. and i got one..

yeah, but on the first post steveo wrote he used a 100v pack ... this is probably also the reason of the unusually high no load current. If I remember right LFP used one of those in the early deathbike, a custom version motor for 105 V used at around that pack voltage with reasonable...

Ooops, I overcharged it again ...

don't worry, I plan to discharge with less than 2 watts ... as I wrote, they are very small cells ... even a battery medics would do it to allow few cycles for forming. I'm not in a hurry :) ps. they are 750 mAh cells, 1s1p  have fun!

Ooops, I overcharged it again ...

ok, thanx, I will check! Still should not be a problem since I put on the equipment exactly the connector that HK is already fitting on the cells. Secondary, the cells are costing in total 5 $ .... no great loss. But, just to be careful, probably I'll cycle them few times with the RC charger at...

    Conclusive proof gearboxes are awesome.

looks like nobody needs a gearbox anymore, well , pity, I could sell one used  In the end I foresee the gearbox remaining with its ICE and at a certain point it will be time to restorate the entire bike that in the meantime became an hystorical piece that nevertheless was and could...

Ooops, I overcharged it again ...

ya, just mere 15 minutes made the internal resistance to rocket up to the sky! never to bulk charge without HVC cell level cutoff, in my future plans  will get two of those to have more funtime and hopefully ending the flight with a less hot battery. the standard helicopter...

Ooops, I overcharged it again ...

First of all, don`t worry too much, sice I`m talking about a single Lipo cell, only 350mAh, but 15C rated. Long story short, I left it charging at 1C, I came back after 80 minutes, expecting to find the green light and a ready to fly cell, but it was still charging, I quickly took it out...

    Conclusive proof gearboxes are awesome.

interesting! so to summarize a zero S is more or less power limited in its top speed and a gear could not help to achieve better top, just wasted power. If I want a 'busa style rocket to do 300 kmph I need to increase the diameter of the motor and its power to accomodate required top speed...

    Conclusive proof gearboxes are awesome.

I agree with your points, but for the tesla case I suspect time to market went against developing effort, in order to hit in time for the big boom. If they really want to make a 400 kmph supercar, perhaps some kind of dual final ratio, selectable only from a dead stop, could make a sense...

    Conclusive proof gearboxes are awesome.

unfortunately I need to revv up endlessy at the red light, to feel happy  perhaps a magnetic clutch would suffice  Joke apart, most of the people needs in the developed world are connected to advertisement and covert ad in series and films ... until fast and the furious...

better to stay away from Ultrafire, except to operate flashlights and similar .... they are mixed rejects, recycled , improperly stored, plain insanely old crap. When asked for current, often they vent ... I bought few, did some test, ouch  have fun!
