    Torqeedo battery and chargetemps

You're not going to be using an electric outboard at sub zero Celsius. The water will be frozen, silly.

What is the best reaction you have gotten from passerbys?

I had my board parked at an icecream shop last summer and this young boy walks by it with his family. With a loud very excited voice says... "I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS... BUT I WANT ONE!" Thought that was the Best eboard quote ever. :D

No output voltage after splitting pack

Turns out that my work went well with this split afterall. The problem was with my cheap DVM. The high scale on the voltage is fried. The meter can't read past 20V. I borrowed a calibrated Fluke meter from work (used for certifying welding procedures) it has no scale and adjusts accordingly but...

    splitting my pack...need some guidance

I wasn't sure if I could open the BMS or if things would fall apart on the inside with some of those screws. I can't see the other side. The heatsink is bonded to the FETs.

No output voltage after splitting pack

I wasn't sure if I could open the BMS or if things would fall apart on the inside with some of those screws. I can't see the other side. The heatsink is bonded to the FETs. D'OH! That makes sense. I was measuring off the pins on the back of the connector. When checking these voltages on the...

No output voltage after splitting pack

All pins are present and straight. Wondering if its possible that those high cells hit HVC and cut current??

No output voltage after splitting pack

The pack ( https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=64348) is split between C9 and C10. I thought things went well until I checked voltages after the split. Need help troubleshooting... Pack was fully charged and not used since last fall. Before the split the pack was at 53.3V...

Good opportunity to check cell voltages at this time. Cells are well balanced.

    splitting my pack...need some guidance

All that is needed to split the pack is cut the packing tape between the 2 cells, remove that sense wire and cut that bus strip. Because I can optimise the orientation of the 2 packs (it will be a 60/40 split) it appears I will only have to solder the appropriate length of bus wire to rejoint...

    splitting my pack...need some guidance

Finally getting around to spitting the pack. It is very different than the GM pack in the link in my OP. This looks well put together and fits inside the aluminum housing like a glove. Not shrink wrapped instead covered on all sides with a sheet of G10 held on with double sided tape. Cells are...

Noob wants a small boost motor for surfboard

The wavejet system has been the only system that that I have seen that looks to keep that surfboard snappyness of the surfboard. You do loose some flex of the board depending on board length. Very modular and very pricey. Can be fit tp any board with the minimum thickness. Its intended for...

    Deska Board city surf

http://www.deskaboard.com Looks like these guys got their crowd funding. Nice looking board. The board reminds me of my Outback MountainBoard except way lighter, way lower, and more flexy. The steering looks different too. From the limited video it seems to behave similarly to my Outback when...

How to restore an Airwheel ?

Have a look at this link. Scroll down to the part about calibration. Sounds like what you need. It is for the X3, could be different for other models?? This guy might be able to assist you in this. http://openschemes.com/2014/11/14/airwheel-debug-port-and-calibration/ Be interested in hearing...

    My Outback E-board Project

Well that's it for testing for now. We have snow on the ground. Time to think about mods and pimping my ride. Splitting and mounting the battery pack. Adding a wattmeter. Replacing the springs with gas springs. New paint. Adding cool lighting. Adding a horn. Maybe someone will come up with a Wii...

    My Outback E-board Project

The wheel could be advertised as 12" but really 12.5" (or vise versa). The 12" Smart Pie is like this, its at least 12.5". I have 0.5" of clearance between the wheel and the front cross member and I have 0.75" between the wheel and the deck. The Outback wheels are really 12.25" I think.

You also have to look at the overall width of the hubmotor itself. Most bicycle dropouts have very little of the frame protruding around them. In this case, the size and width of the shoulders of the motor look like the will hit the frame even if you move out the dropouts. The dropouts will be...

    My Outback E-board Project

I came across the 12" one but I dismissed it as being 'weaker' than the smartpie. That was before I knew that the smartpie could be overvolted. Perhaps this one could be too?? I was not sure if it was a sensored motor either. I needed it to be sensored. The 8" motor... I have seen an Outback...

Smallest hub motor with internal controller

The Golden Motor Magic Pie and Smart Pie use internal controllers. The latest version 4 have the new Vector sinewave controllers. The Smart Pie is the smaller of the two.

It did seem slightly faster each increment. The 'speed spikes' also happened to be incrementally faster but was not even close to the average speeds like with other times when I first determined its top speed. It did not seem to get any faster after 400 RPM (no more speed spikes). Likely does...

    My Outback E-board Project

Its my understanding that the SP3 can handle the voltage. However, as with any mod like this care should be taken to make sure your battery, BMS (if used), motor controller, and motor all have a compatible continuous /peak amps. Or that the controller can be programed to match the battery, BMS...

    My Outback E-board Project

There was a PAS Ratio setting that I thought could be set to an "optimum setting" if you didn't use PAS because there was no way to disable PAS. But it is just ignored if you don't have PAS. I thought that I could tweek the continuous and peak amps. But they are already default to the max the...

    My Outback E-board Project

I did look at getting the 12.5" Front Smart-Pie 3 with external controller. I was going to set it up with the GM external controller it comes with to see if I could get it to work. Then for more speed upgrade to a controller that could handle 60V or even 72V. I was able to source 72V 5000 mAh of...
