    Electric cyclekart

Good point, actually I don't care about the top speed at all. What I want is some wheelspin when I punch the pedal on a corner at some loose surface. Watched one video where they tested the top speed of a cyclekart: 73kmph. They got 200cc petrol engines, that produce 6kW or something in the...

    QS 3000w midmotor

In that case, I'd probably put one motor on each wheel ;)

    QS 3000w midmotor

I found a great video of a moped fitted with this motor and it looks like a blast! check it out (not my video): DnNqPmY4Bys I do actually have a question though for anyone who has this motor (and all other experts): I plan on fitting this motor to a small rear wheel drive car (of sorts), here...

    Electric cyclekart

Hmm. I did the math. Turns out the required reduction would be aproximately 1:10.5 That would require a HUGE rear sprocket and TINY front one. I sent a question to the manufacturer to see how small sprocket they can supply with the motor. I don't think it would be impossible to have 2-stage...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Thats great! Less extra stuff to worry about. This controller seems like a good match to the QS motor it's bundled with and there seems to be bunch of people using it. Have any of you found shortcomings with it? Are there any known pitfalls I should be aware of before I buy it? To be honest...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

I am considering buying EM-150 along with QS 3000W 138 70H motor. I there a way to have two different pair of settings, which you could switch between with a press of a button etc? I would prefer to be able to tune the parameters for a "full power", but then be able to flick a switch and...

    Electric cyclekart

I have built 2 electric bikes before, but it has always been my dream an electric vehicle, with 4 wheels. Recently when looking for inspiration I came across with the term "Cyclekart". I suggest you google it for more accurate information, but I'll just say: They look brilliant! Gorgeous...

DIY motor from a motorcycle magneto stator?

Okay this is their 4mm thick 18mm stator, in the picture you can clearly see that there is multiple layers of plates inside it So yeah, kinda answered that quickly myself. EDIT: counted 11 layers. 4mm/11 = ~0.36mm (though gotta count some for the enamel layers)

DIY motor from a motorcycle magneto stator?

Oh, okay. Nice find on the thread, I read some of it through (google translate). So even 0.7mm plate is too thick huh? 0.35 is 2-4 times better, at least according to them. What is the plate thickness of a standard BLDC motor stator? I just looked at gobrushless stator and they proclaim 2mm...

DIY motor from a motorcycle magneto stator?

I'v been reading a lot of diy articles, posts and instructables for the past few weeks and I am intrigued by the idea of making my own BLDC motor, one that would have that sweet low kv and lots of torque so I could easily use it to make a powerful (small, but >1kW) EV. Gobrushless have their...

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

I would go with 12s, but my motor is commercial 36V and 12s is practically for 48v motors. Dont really feel like burning up the motor/controller. Since I dont know how, and of what, they are made out of.

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

Hi Y'all, I need your 5 cents on a subject of buying new hobbyking batteries. BACKROUND: I got 500W ebike and I am using 4x 4000mAh 6s and 4x 4000mAh 3s batteries combined into a 16000mAh 9s. All turnigy batteries. I got RC hobby backround so I got some of these batteries from RC projects. So...

    dsPIC30F4011 / Lebowski motor controller

Yeah, I dont have the time to start making the code. I want the firmware, but if you cant "just download it from the net and load into your board" I will just buy the chip pre-programmed. I dont have the knowledge to program a functional BLDC motor controller, nor the time to learn :p I am...

    dsPIC30F4011 / Lebowski motor controller

Ah, so the only way is to get the pre-programmed chip from the dude himself. I thought that thw firmware was open-source. Okay, gotta ask him then. First Ill glance through the thread again (build your own....). Thanks, getting my thoughts on the right track. The right heading at least.

    dsPIC30F4011 / Lebowski motor controller

Okay, I have been searching for a DIY BLDC motor controller and this I think is the place to find the best anwers. I read a lot about Lebowski controller and I think it's something I want to give a try. First of all, I want to make sure I get this right... because I might have understood this...
