    Could I get some ideas?

Haha, don't worry buddy, there will be some modding. According to reviews the hardware sucks. So I will replacing the bolts with nylon bolts, and on the clamp I will most likely need to use a longer bolt. It's also been suggested I replace the brass bushings with some mini ball bearings. I'll...

    Painting my bike's rims.

I can't get the rim powder coated. I'm using a Nuvinci hub that I just paid to have strung into the rim.

    Could I get some ideas?

Sorry for the double post. I almost shat out my heart. I was reading about Kore's chain tensioner and look what I found. http://www.kore-usa.com/old_site/dreactor.htm Woohoo! I lucked out!

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention I want mine to last more than a week.

    Painting my bike's rims.

I got it down that I need to tape up the stainless steel spokes (I think they are stainless, the magnet didn't stick to em) and the axle (Or in this case my geared hub) And prime the rim, then paint it a few coats. Questions: The center of the rim is already black. I can just tape that up and...

    Could I get some ideas?

Hey dudes. Just got off the phone with the bike store fella. I am happy to have a guy like him in my area to work on my ride. He wasn't trying to screw me or doing a sloppy job. Absolutely everything he did to make sure my bike got finished and was working correctly. -Issue one: The Nuvinci...

    Could I get some ideas?

Hey guys, look what I found. http://www.ebikestop.com/kore_chain_reactor_tensioner___black-21023.php I am almost positive that mounting bracket won't be suitable, but all I need to do is remove it, whip up a custom bracket and bolt on the tensioner arm!

Some great ideas here. Tomorrow I am going to cruise the local hardware stores looking for solutions.

    Could I get some ideas?

I'm leaning towards a clamp on chain tensioner. Only because I don't have the skills and/or money to have a tab made up for a tensioner. I'm kinda iffy on it though. What type of directional force would be put on my chainstay? I am thinking having a rectangular chainstay might work to my...

    Could I get some ideas?

My chainstay is aluminum. I never thought of a tab welded on it. I don't even know of any body/metal works shops in my area that would do that or how much it'd cost though. A nicely welded aluminum tab would be fairly strong, right? Hm, I am not too keen with any possibility of compromising...

    Could I get some ideas?

I need to get rid of my dérailleur hanger mounted chain tensioner so I can mount the Nuvinci hub's torque arms. I am going to go with a chainstay mounted chain tensioner, problem is my chain stay is rectangular shaped! Can anyone help me out with ideas whether it be a custom bracket to mount...

Using RC motors as E-Bike motors.

I searched RC motors in this section but found nothing. Thanks a lot for that link dude!

Using RC motors as E-Bike motors.

How is it done? I thought these little RC motors were developed form high RPM? How do folks use them to power heavy E-Bikes+passengers?

    Chain driven electric motors.

Doubtful I will scrap my current project and purchase a pre fab bike unless I win the lottery. I wonder if the motor will fit in the wedge right above my bottom bracket.

    Chain driven electric motors.

So the suggestion is running it from either a second rear freewheel gear or from my crank? I guess mounting it in the center triangle might be a possibility. There's not really the space for it anywhere else.

    Chain driven electric motors.

Hey dudes. I was wondering how effective chain driven electric bike motors were. Since I am using a Nuvinci hub and using a front hub motor is not exactly ideal I was thinking this might be an alternative. I am putting money away for a springtime purchase of a motor, controller, and batteries...

What Tire is Good for High-Speed on an Ebike?

Sorrry to go off topic, but what does this mean? For as long as I can remember whenever I was about to hit a rough patch I'd ease my butt up off my saddle and shift my weight in anticipation for a pothole or rough area of gravel. Is this what he means?

I need some help figuring out gear ratios.

This has nothing to do with electric motors, thus so far. I am simply talking bout trying to match up my Nuvinci hub with a set of gears to my old 21 speed. What I am trying to do is get a similar or better gear ratio. So, are the charts I posted equal or do I need to use different sprockets?

Alright, so can anyone help me with gear ratios?

I need some help figuring out gear ratios.

I have vertical dropouts. So I don't need a chain tensioner? I mean if I got the chain to the correct length, just right, on a 1 speed setup, I wouldn't need one? My problem with using other size gears is I want at least the same or better gearing on my new setup. With the 13/44 gearing setup...

I need some help figuring out gear ratios.

For 26 X 1.9 / 47-559 / MTB tire with 175 mm cranks with 7-speed Sram 12-14-16-18-21-26-32 Cassette I used a calculator on Sheldon Brown's website and came up with this for my current setup: For 26 X 1.9 / 47-559 / MTB tire with 175 mm cranks and 12 tooth sprocket Now, I don't know much about...

    Bomber forks.

Which model/year do you recommend for mounting a geared hub motor on? Problem is, I friggin' hate my standard gears/dérailleurs etc. etc. I am having so many issues with them, chain falling off, front dérailleur thing keeps rubbing against the chain, constant adjustment, can't shift into...

Front Hub Motor with front shocks/disc brakes.

Ok. I am scared. I think I am going to mount my motor on the rear. When I buy another bike I will look for one with an uber fork.

Front Hub Motor with front shocks/disc brakes.

I know most bikes with front disc brakes aren't comptible with front hub motors because of the space required in the dropout spacing. But I just installed my rear cargo rack and bag, and even empty the back of the bike is heavier than the front. I really want to use a front hub motor to...

    EBike With Hub Battery

Neat concept. But 36V/9Ah just isn't enough for long commutes. It'd be neat if you could cram 72V/20Ah min in a hub, unfortunately the logistics of that don't work.
