We had that type of high voltage catenery system in the 1920's for the trollys. GM destroyed what was a very efficient system to sell gas and diesel. Maybe it can come back with rubber tires but tracks make the trolley much easier to drive.

Looks like a good idea, for recharging them, not for powering them, as it would then require stringing wires 'all over the freeking place',
but as a short charging section every so often, it would work great.
