Hi,

I have a Lion battery 36V 10s 8p (2200 mah - 17.6 Ah) with a 36V charger.

I connected the charger and it seems to work normally. It loaded all night, but the battery remained at 37,7V instead of going to 41V.

I checked the voltage of the battery and indicates 37.7V.
I checked the charger plug, and it's 42V.
I checked the fuse and it is ok.

When I connect the charger to the battery, if I check the cables +(positive) and - (negative) from the battery side, they gives 37.7V. Is it correct?
Should not give 42V, like the charger?

I can't understand what's wrong!

How can I check if the BMS is working?

Thank you

Mark.

The constant charge voltage for 10S Li-ion is DC 42V but this is the charge voltage and not the voltage of battery.
The charger will push up 10S Li-ion to around 42V and then finish charge process.(If BMS set over charge protection to lower than 42V, BMS will cut off and finish charge before charger push up battery pack voltage to 42V and finish charge)
After finish charge, 10S Li-ion pack will slowly get back to it's "real" voltage around 37V.

If you find it's 37.7V after charge finish, then it should be normal.

It could be as simple as the plug is broken, on the battery side. Or the bms won't let the charge flow into the battery due to a fault.

Double check those fuses, it could be blown and not look like it.
